In the last week I have been going through membership roll pages and am disturbed to find that we have a large number of "anonymous" individuals who join using quite obviously fake names, hidden profiles, and free e-mail addresses (yahoo, hotmail, etc.) While any one of these alone doesn't concern me much, two or three of them together does.As some of our long-time members are aware, we have had in the past some individuals who are lacking a life join under several different names and carry on conversations with themselves - hoping to entice an argument from other members.This is neither appreciated nor accepted, and when I discover these tactics these fake members are banned - permanently. Our forum should be a "safe haven" for its members, not a place where people come for some weird kind of entertainment.It is in this light that I am instituting a new rule - that ALL NEW MEMBERS MUST POST A BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF SELF AND SCHNAUZER/S. These will be posted in thenew member introductionscategory for everyone to read.Additionally, I will no longer allow hidden profiles for ANYONE - so if you currently are maintaining a hidden profile, go into it, delete the info you don't want people to see - such as your birthdate, location, etc. - and "unlock" it so that everyone can view it. I'm sorry if this makes anyone uncomfortable, but if we are "public" enough to post questions, photos, and other information about ourselves here, then we should be able to use our real names in a profile.I will be permanently deleting members who maintain a hidden profile after today = ESPECIALLY if I cannot identify them as a member known to me.If you have any problems with the above, feel free to contact me, but I see no reason to allow hidden profiles and fake names any longer.Tania Kidd - Forum owner
