Looking to hear from DocforPets.  I have a friend who has a MS with week old pups.  She noticed on Sun. that she was losing the hair around her eyes.  I told her I thought it was mites.  My question is what will the vet do to treat this with her having babys?  She has an appt. this afternoon.  Thanks.  This is a great forum.

Oh, after looking back over what I had written, I wanted to get responses from anybody! I didn't mean just from DocforPets.  I thought I should make myself a little more clear.

While I can't help with this problem other than telling your friend to call her vet about this (which apparently she has already done), it certainly would be helpful for everyone if you would delete these two posts and repost them under the appropriate categories.... such as "General" or "Health". This category is for Pet Loss, not hair loss<G> We already have another thread going way off topic in another category. It just makes the forum much too confusing and it is up to us to try to post in the appropriate areas as Tania has better things to do than to babysit us.

I'm sooo sorry! Thought I had posted under new topic, meaning if you wanted to talk about something else that would be new topic.  It was early early in the morning and I hadn't quite wiped the sleep out of my eyes. I'm still fairly new at this and didn't mean for anybody to have to do more work, because I didn't follow the directions.

Well, that you did, but under the wrong heading<G>

If you go to your own posts (copy the main one first so you don't have to write the blasted thing all over again), look in the upper right corner and see all the little icons. The last one is a garbage can, and clicking on that will delete your post(s). Find the appropriate heading (General or Health), hit New Topic in one of those headings, and paste your previous post in the new window.

I wanted to reply to you here since I didn't know if the post would get moved or not.

I would have those pups vet checked to see what is going on with the hair loss.  It could be mites, but that would be extremely early for mites to already be causing signs.  It could be ringworm........ or it may be nothing at all.  Not sure what to treat with as it depends on the cause.

Make sure the pups don't have fleas, as this is one of the most common skin issues with very young pups

Good Luck,

Lori
