got some more hot news.  and this has been made public.  the iofs will have three dates scheduled on the dirt at mountpelier speedway.  this track is located near marion indiana.  it is a high bank track at either 1/4 or 3/8 in length.  i have found info on both distances so don't know which.

p.s. on this is different than my earlier news.  but i will say the earlier does involve a national televised event.

just got some hot news from iofs.  i am not going to give any details because he texted it to me instead of posting it on a forum but believe me it is huge.  as some one who is interested in participating, it is exciting to hear some big things are on the way for figure 8 racing.  there is supose to be a big anouncement soon.  can't wait.

now that i made everyone look.  i met with speedy yesterday to find out what he has to offer in building a car.  after meeting with him i came to the following conclusion.  he is offering quality work at a fair competitive price.  as soon as i get my ducks in a row, i am going to have him build me one.  who better than the defending champ to build you a car.  call him, you'll be happy with the quality of his work.  speedy can be reached at 317-361-7326.

i would just go over to earls on gasonline alley and see how much they would charge for rebuilding them. I'm pretty sure they rebuild them atleast i think i saw it on there wall last time i was there.

thanks bob.  it  looks like the 44 mm shock pictured below looks like the ones i have.  i take it you don't know about a rebuild kit for my afco coil overs?  i have to climb up and see if there is a part# on them.  they are hanging from a beam in my garage.  i got them from jerry johnson years ago.  i think they might be off the latemodel bobby raced about 8 years back.

it just seems it would be better having these then having coil over shocks that are not adjustable atleast you can switch shocks out and are not stuck with a certain valving I have saw the ring that holds the coil over piece in place fall off i think it was just incorrectly used

educate me bob.  i know that really sounds funny.  i have 4 double heim  bilstiein shocks but i am not familiar with the conversion pieces you are talking about.  also i have some old afco coil over shocks.  they're the big aluminum kind.  does afco make a rebuild kit for theese?  they look like they could possibly be rebuildable.

as for our plans.  doug carver and i will still be racing together.  we have another stocker that ran salem and orp.  we are planning on running it and a brand new stock.  doug will be in one car and i will be in the other.  the car doug drove this season will become our back up.  big races like the brian lutrell 62 lap and the kenny's 100 we might run all 3 cars.  if we do, i have a couple of ideas who we might have pilot the third car.  after the stocks are ready to go, we will start work on a late model for doug to run in the iofs races.  if we have it ready early enough we might bring the late model out for the jake's 150, phyllis tunnyrace, and some other big races.  but there are no plans to run it weekly.  it just cost too much to do so.  no plans to run the three hour at this time, but you never know.  doug has a road runner to build for him to run in some of the bigger races.  we still have the little s-10 that he or i might run in the big hornet events like the all star.  also crew member ken hood might give the hornet a try.

well right now working on building a 66' studebaker daytona into a stocker. making sure i have all the parts and its looking like I just about have everything. just going to run the stock figure 8 races and the iofs races. should have the chasis ready for the body by mid jan.

i heard dick bergren say on wind tunnel something that is a good sentiment for the 09 season.  his wish for the 09 season is that all small tracks across america have full fields, full grandstands, and sponsors for all cars and divisions.  i could not think of anything better.
