300 hundreds should be a good race to watch...i have a feeling as the year goes on there might be a good many sub 40 times and that'll be great to watch and hurdles are always interesting to watch bc you never know when somone might fall.

I would be surprised if we see any sub 40's. Its been a couple years since AA has produced decent 300 people. A actually has faster hurdlers this year dont they?

Nottingham is the only one that has gotten in the 15's in the highs.. and he is the only one to get in the 40's in the 300's.. Powers has a top time of 41.9 and is in 2nd.. so i don't think A has better hurdlers.. but it is always fun to watch the A hurdles.. One person to look out for at the end of the season is Greg Reed of Doddridge.. He has been improving and is becoming an excellent hurdler.. I believe that this is his first year running hurdle's.. so look for him to stir up some converstation talk in the Highs come states!!!

if my memory is correct, the 300 record might have been smashed if it werent for winfield's brad keys injuring himself his senior season, can anyone confirm this?

linville from ritchie won that year, 2005 in 39.54 and again his senior year in 38.82. The record is 38.33. Keys best time was 40.90 in 2005. Natali from Magnolia ran in the 39's also.

Actually, Keys ran a 38.92 in the 300's at the state meet in 2003 so i believe that record would have been well within his reach had he not been injured.

All of the runners you mentioned did great things during their high school careers; Natali, Huffman, Linville, and Keys were great athletes and brought alot of excitement to our sport. We should be proud of all of them.

I couldnt agree more. They were very enjoyable to watch. I hope we see times like they ran in the 300's again sometime within the state.

like i said earlier in this post AA 300 meters hurdles is gonna be the best race of all....and you can say what you want about AAA or A but AA is gonna be the best..simply bc everyone knows who is gonna win A and AA and thats Andy Nottingham and Andrew Carrier..no one can catch them in their divisions....but if you look at the times in AA in the best performances, #1 is a 40.40 and the #10 spot is a 43.03..but i would like to inform you that as of this past saturday the slowest time on there is most likely gonna be a low 42 and the top 6 or 7 times are gonna be within 1.2 seconds of each other...and if you wanna see a really good preview of the 300's at states jus come to the region 4 regionals bc all of those times will be competing that day minus the two kids from winfield..bc phillip barbour, keyser, lincoln, berkely springs, and frankfort are all in the same reason and that is the top ten in the state minues two winfield kids and a kid from ritchie...so i'm sure that will be a very good perview of the state race.

And none the less.. everyone of them could qualify to run at states.. now its the top 3 times and then the next 4 fastest in the state.. so at most one region could get at most 7 runners, and your saying that 7 of the top 10 are in one region!!

now wait a minute tymurda AAA isnt a set race there is more than just carrier in that race maybe you had better check your stats a little better. Carrier is a great runner but dont forget about Goldbaugh,Aspy, or myself. It will be a good race but i think it will be far from a runaway.

Winfield has two really solid hurdlers that I think will probably take the #1 and #2 spots in highs. 110s are going to be REALLY close. I could honestly see 5-6 different people winning it just depending on what happens.
300s will be tight too, but not quite as much as the highs. I'm picking Eli Cottrill on that one.
Just don't forget about Regionals next week.. you have to make it through that first. I've seen far too many good runners knock themselves out when they should have placed high at states. Just be super careful..

why did myers from Magnolia not show up for the state meet? Being able to compete at the state meet is prestigious and worth going to isn't it?? Didn't know if he skipped or had an emergency!! Just a thought!!

Well we called him like an hour before the highs and he said he was ten minutes away. When he didnt show up we thought maybe he was in an accident or something, but later we found out he just didnt want to come. He tried to make excuses but none of them were believable. We had to have someone fill in for him on the shuttles team also.
