Just curious about what happened to Rachel Buser from Berkley Springs? I know she set a couple of state records early in her career, and it looks as though she didn't even run at the Regional meet her senior season. I always enjoyed watching her run.

I want to try to enter an open meet that individual runners can compete in after track season is over. Does anyone know of any?

Re :   resutls

I got them at around 11:00 this morning.  However, at that point, I'm at work and can't post anything.  Straight from work to the Region I - Class A at Weston.  Didn't get home until around 10:15.

I am trying to update the Middle School Best Performance list. The results for this meet only include team abbreviations.

Could anyone help me out with the team names in this meet or give me the contact information for one of the coaches?

Thanks

I congratulated her for finishing after the race, but I just want to say again, what she did takes guts and heart. She goes down as a champ in my book.

Re :   Throwing Camp over the Summer

I really like where this is going.... I still have to get some more ideas and put them together... I was thinking about the camp being in later June or early July... it would prolly be on a weekend because I know a lot of throwers play football too.  I would like to get more information from people about who would be interested in coming to the camp... Maybe that people that read this post can ask around at the meets.

Just email me back with school name and how many throwers....It would be great if I could get this going every year. I will try to do this and maybe even have a camp over Winter Break...

Topic :   Throwing Camp over the Summer

Just wondering if any one would be interested in going to a throwing camp this summer located at Williamstown. Nothing is in writing yet but I have heard that some coaches were  asking around about throwing camps over the summer. Coaches and College throwers would be coaching high school athletes. I have a lot of contacts in the throwing aspect of Track and Field and I have a lot of throwing experience. Just wondering what people thought of an Idea for throwing. Can coach college javelin atheltes too.  (dont know  how this would go over but we will see)  Just  reply if any are interested.

Re :   Javelin in The state of WV!!!

I have talked about this before. The javelin is a great deal safer and cheaper than the pole vault. A javelin cost between $150 to $300 whereas poles are outrageous.  An athlete does not outgrow a javelin like they do in the pole vault. In Pennsylvania most schools don't have a javelin runway just a marked off area in an open field, compare that to the cost of a certified pole mat an equipment.  How many high school athletes are hurt in the javelin as compared to the pole vault. Look at single A girls pole vault at the state meet, two schools have dominated the event because of facilities(yes there is good coaching too) they have. More athletes would participate in the javelin than the pole vault and isn't that the reason they gave for splitting aa-a a few years back, which I was against also. One last rant, why do we still run the shuttles in WV. It is not a hurdle race just another sprint event.

Re :   Javelin in The state of WV!!!

Why is the state of WV doing this. I know that in some schools in Ohio throw the Hammer and they do not have it as an event at state competition. The Meets should be broken down into some more field events as well. The state of WV is to centered around sprints. We are one of the only states that still compete in the shuddle hurdles. Most states dropped this event and picked up triple jump or something else.
I was just wondering if the state would try to change their minds on having some of these events avalible to some of the schools and to the schools on the border of the state to go out of state and compete in events the state of WV does not offer.
