You are right Dex. The track was in great shape! I had a good time. I finally broke into the 26 second club. The best part of the night was listening to Tim Davis on the drivers stand complaining and whining about toy car traffic...LOL!! Too funny. I guess you cant knock the guy for being so passionate about our sport. Tim, you are the greatest, I dont care what Matt says about you :-)

RE:dialed track
(Date Posted:12/26/2009 23:32:27)
I agree on the track Dex - going fast with your spec-motored slash is further proof that driving is more important that power. When mod 2wheel is only about 1.5 sec a lap faster...haha
I don't recall complaining that much - and most of it was in fun...I recall making the comment about how many times to I have to lap the truck with three wheels...which Duncan and I are friends, so that was a joke, and he was laughing about it. Matt was jabbering on the mic about traffic a lot, and it was pretty brutal.
And you are right, I do get pretty passionate about it in the time span between the tones, and I want to win or improve every time I put my toy car on the track. I rebuilt the entire rear end of my truck for that main, because it sucked so bad in the qualifiers...laff...no sence in running a total hurt box out there. If we weren't trying to win and improve each time on the track, then why are we timing the races and keeping track of the running order?
As Matt would say, "if its just for fun, then take your transponder out"
oh...and how about Austin getting the holeshot and holding onto the lead for about 3 minutes...clicking off 26 second laps....with a 13.5!!

Track was ok, not great although buggy's looked hooked up.
Please dont refer to my race vehichles as toy cars.
Dexter was born to ride the short bus, oops, i mean run short course.
Ifi have offended anyone, GOOD lol.
Austin is definitely picking up RC racing skills quickly.

Sorry Tate -
Let me rephrase -
While my toy cars had adequate traction, I can see how your race vehicles could have been suffering. Yes, my 2wd toy car was pretty dialed in the main, but I'm sure if you had raced your 2wd race vehicle, you would have enjoyed its performance immensely. I'm heading to the shop now to clean up my toy cars from the race day yesterday, and I hope that you will consider preparing your race vehicles for next weekend also.
Have a great Sunday my serious, competitve, dedicated, toy car/race vehicle racing friend!

Ok, im pulling out my transponder because im there to have fun!! Only reason I like to check my lap times is to see if I am improving my driving each week. I could care less about beating other people. I am out there to beat myself. WAIT, that didnt sound right...HAHA!!

It was very easy to over power the track 13.5 was all the track could really use(unless in the hands of some people)--one day the sun will come out and will really make it sweet.

And I know what you mean Todd... don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled if I win, but for now I am focusing on improving my driving and lap times week to week, though it would help if I was getting out to race at all =)

Re:dialed track

Reality check! Ok, we arent going to beat Tate, Davis, Mosieur, Smith, even Kyle. The only slight chance we would have is if they break in the Main. I am not proud to beat someone because they broke and I didnt. I guess its all part of racing. But still, I wouldnt feel like I accomplished anything by beating Dexter because he broke. Im just saying Dex..HAHA! Not that you break or anything :-) So yeah, im basically out there to have a good time with people who share this same hobby and to better myself with each qualifier. Plus, I have no life, my wife works on weekends, I have nothing better to do with my time...LOL!!

Re:dialed track
(Date Posted:12/28/2009 12:51:18)
Yeah...I just try & focus on running the best I can.... SOMETIMES I will punk out & not run my best just so Im in the middle of the pack just to get the practice of racing a START, you know weaving through the traffic to get up front. Just depends on who Im going up against. To me a good day is when I dont break anything & I drove the best I could with what I got at the time, track condtions, weather & THE WIND...lol Just remember to have fun, that is the key to this hobby... is to have fun & to piss off Kyle...lmaooo "Hey Green car move over so I can pass U" I still laugh when I think about that race...lmaoooo And for the past 6 months I havent beat Matt when it comes to a race... I beat him in a Qual at Outofcontrol...BUT that wasnt a RACE. Then he had equipment problems for the race & didnt make it. To me thats not beating someone if they break or have some sort of problem. NOW if you we are racing & Im putting pressure on you & you take yourself out cause of the pressure.... I will walk away knowing with a smirk on my face. He needs to get that Slash back & forget about the SC10...lol I never came close to him when he drove that truck, now with that SC10 in MOD...it just boils down to how many mistakes "I" make if Im going to catch him....lol As far as Tate & Dex... I dont think Ive got much of a chance in buggy... I just dont put the time into it like I did my Truck. I just havent figuered out why the freaking thing doesnt want to turn.... O well one day it will come to me. Remember to have FUN & its like 60% luck & 40% skill when it comes to racing.....lmaooooo And Im in the same boat as Tate.... I dont refer to my cars as toy cars.....lmaooooo

The more everybody starts at one time the better you learn how to drive when other vehicles are darting back and forth for the same spot.

Re:dialed track

Look at every other form of racing... qualifying is qualifying, you focus on driving the track as well as you can as fast as you can with no other variables... I'd much rather qualify on my own, and EARN my position, be it first or last, and not have to worry about the 4 other trucks next to me smashing me into the wall... that is not qualifying on your own merit. My opinion on this will never change, but it won't stop me from showing up... leave that to my job, this 3 week cold, and the screwed up turnpike =)
Anyways, I am open to the idea of changing up qualifying, maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, but I think we should try it and see how folks feel about it.
