Cool...I know Capts. D Day and his 1st mate, Joan , are registered again too...Capts. Murphy and Michael are going to attend so we have a great start.
Get your tickets early guys...this will be a great time to get away for a weekend in the woods and enjoy the best nature has to offer. There's lots of stuff to do in and around the sail site too.

The first one was a real success, if you missed it, you missed a great sail. The 2nd regatta is scheduled for Oct. 2, 2010. It's at the same place. We hope you can make it to this one and enjoy the great time with us.

Ahoy mates,
Fair weather is finally here and it's time to get out and enjoy it. This weekend is the regatta at Lake Delano in FDR State Park, Georgia. Capt. Sunshine & I will be getting there Friday afternoon and staying in cabin #6, so feel free to come on by. I've been on the horn several times with the park rangers this week and everything is ready to go. We are expecting a troop of scouts and the park is busy putting together a rain gutter regatta for them and we can expect some free sailing in the lake to be taking place as a result. The event kicks off around noon Saturday. The park is cooking dogs and providing cokes for us, one of FDR's favorite foods, and we should have a real good time. If you just want to come out for the day, there is a covered pavilion at the site and I believe it's a $5.00 per day park admittance fee per vehicle. It's around 100 miles East of Montgomery and about 5 miles from Calloway Gardens.
If you decide to forgo the trip please go to our home port and sail...it's too nice not to.
FYI...the next home port sail, on 10/17/2009, and all sails until next summer, will be at 12:00 noon. We are going back to our normal hours...the summer heat is gone!
Fair winds to ya.

It looks like a very good weekend to sail...wish I didn't have to go up North again....RATS. Hey Earl...get up with Capt. D Day (RCGroups UL-1 thread) he may be ready to run his upgraded boat by then.

I'm bringing this back to the top too. It's getting close so, anyone not already going might want to look at it again. I know around a half dozen of us are committed to this and we would love to see more members show...even if just for the day. You can still get rooms at nearby Calloway Gardens Resort or one of several hotels. This should a very fun trip.

Thanks Scooter....anyone planing to go this year?

Below
is a link I found to the event. I was told it was the last weekend in
September...but it's slated for the same weekend as last year...the
first weekend in September. Unfortunately that is also a scheduled club
sail weekend. So unless the majority wants to change the sail weekend
or go to this event instead...I will need to stay here for the club. I
know Capt. Scooter went last year and had a big time.

You can get a new receiver for around $25.00 at various places. It is supposed to be water resistant and I've had water in mine once and after I let it dry it worked fine. Saltwater....not good on boats!
