Which races earn points...Another idea is that all races earn points, but you can choose which apply to you to a set number of races. Example: Say there are 10 Sundays of racing in 2010. Points will award for each race, however only 8 races (any 8) will count for the championship. So if you've got to miss a race or 2 because of other obligations you'll still be in the hunt. If you make all 10 races, then you get to throw out your 2 worst races.
Points: I like the diminishing points depending on the number of racers, ie if 10 racers, 10 gets 10, 2nd gets 9, 3rd get 8 ect, except that there should be a bigger reward for winning, say winner gets an additional 5 or 10 points and also last place should get 0 points. This way incentive to win and not come in last. This will also give incentive for racers to show since if you don't and there are 40 racers you'll miss alot of points.
