I mentioned in an earlier post about putting together an EMERGENCY BINDER to be used in the event of a serious incident or injury. I have completed the personal information sheets I feel should be in the binder. It occurred to me that these sheets may contain a lot of information that you may not want disclosed to anyone other then Emergency Medical Personnel. For this reason, you will be given an envelope to put your information sheets in and seal. In this way, the information can not be disclosed unless the envelopes are opened. You will be the only one who knows what is contained in that envelope. And the envelopes should only be opened by Emergency Medical Personnel. This should eliminate the possibility of your personal medical information being disclosed inappropriately. I encourage EVERYONE who participates in our events to fill out these forms as much as possible. And to also include any other information you think may be useful in the event you are not able to speak for your self. Filling out this information and including it in the binder is completely voluntary. And you may recover your envelope at any time you desire should you wish to remove it from the binder or change and update information. This is valuable information that may help you receive the proper treatment you need in a timely manner following an incident.
