This car has just been UPDATED to meet the new strict safety rules for DRAGG.

Sorry fellas, but you aren't helping yourselves like this!
Let's start with your roll bar.  It has no triangulation and therefore no forward/rearward strength.  it appears to be almost 3 feet tall.
The result of this in a roll over is that the leverage on the roll bar will be more then sufficient to either snap it right off, or fold it up like a paper clip.

I don't see any significant seat or shoulder harness to keep the upper body in place.  Think about the crash that Bollywood had!  If this car gets out of shape, the upper body of the driver is going to be flinging around like a bobble head.  Then that used $5 helmet you bought off ebay that probably doesn't fit is going to be punctured by those cool looking wrenches you have welded to the roll bar.

If you guys want to be able to have an incident and then race again next week, you really need to be looking at this stuff and at what happens in a crash!

This car needs to have support added to the roll bar so it won't fold up.  Forward down bars that sit just below the driver's shoulders and mount to the chassis just behind the front axle would give a LOT of support to the roll bar as well as a lot of protection to the driver.

You guys also need to start thinking about a seat that can support you and hold you FIRMLY in place when things get out of control!

If this car gets away from the driver and gets off it's wheels, the driver is going to suffer BADLY from lack of protection and repeated secondary impacts as a result of being strapped onto this thing in such a way as to offer NO protection.

Don't take this as criticism!  Take it as helpful advice and use it to upgrade your safety features in a way that will make you safer!  As a group, your speeds will increase as you play this game and you need to make sure that your safety increases ahead of the speed increases or else you will have more broken and bleeding drivers.  THAT is what we are trying to help you avoid!

While we are looking at these pictures, I wanted to also note that your bumper rule is probably a good thing.  And it may keep one car from being able to climb wheels with another.

But think about what materials and designs are being used to meet the bumper rule!

This car has a piece of 3/4 inch round pipe on the front.  If that comes into contact with a similar bumper, they will simply ride up or under each other.  When that happens, one or both cars normally loose the ability to navigate and a crash still happens.

Your bumper rule would be much more effective if you mandated bumpers made out of 1/4 x 2 inch strap and had all of them mounted at the same height front and back.  That way when contact was made, each bumper would simply push on the other bumper and a possible loss of control may be avoided.

It’s often been said that most racing drivers lack a certain amount of imagination.  And often times that lack of imagination can lead to drastic consequences.

So lets exercise our imagination for a few minutes.....

Don’t think you need a roll bar?

Imagine what it would be like to fall on your head from 4 inches off the ground.

Now imagine what that would be like with a 250 pound soap box car strapped to your butt.

Now imagine that after the 250 pound soap box car has been 4, 5 or 6 feet in the air..... at 40, 50 or 60 mph.

THAT’S why we have roll bars!
