Topic :   MARTY STUART

Marty Stuart just sent me his new book:

"COUNTRY MUSIC: The Masters"

Can't tell you how PROUD I am to be included in his photo
anthology of the Country Music Business!

Marty has long been respected as a "Historian" of Country
Music ... and this book includes Decades of his personal
journeys with many of the LEGENDS of the Business.

In this book, there's everything from photos of the Crash
Site where Patsy Cline died to close-up images of her costumes. There are backstage photos of Johnny Cash hairspraying his "do" at Madison Square Garden ... and the
guitars played by Chet Atkins.

If you're a Student of Country Music ... this book is for
YOU.

Hello everybody.  Welcome to the board Aaron.  You will love it here.  Lynn pops in from time to time to say hello.  Feel free to share anything you want to with us.  We are one happy family here.  If you have a prayer request for us, please feel free to post it because we care about everybody on here.

Thanks, this seems like a great place, I'm glad I joined, how could I not be, Lynn being on here is an added bonus, I've never heard of any famous people actually talking to fans on their own website

I wonder if she updates her own myspace too

I knew I liked Lynn for some reason, she actually talks to her fans, not through some secretary like most, that is something really special these days, when most stars try to de-humanize themselves by keeping the farthest away from their fans as they can, it's kind of like they are saying " I'm better than you " or something,

Now, Lynn really is at the top of my list for favorite artist/person, it's just so nice to see that she has time for the people that really care about her, even though she may not know all of us in person

I can't wait to get to know everyone here :)

Kentucky Commandments

Some people in Kentucky have trouble with all those "shalls" and "shall nots" in the Ten commandments. Folks just aren't used to talking in those terms. So, some folks in eastern KY got together and translated the "King James" into "Pike County" language.... no joke, read on...

The Hillbilly's Ten Commandments (posted on the wall at the City Hall in Pikeville KY.)

1) Just one God

2) Honor yer Ma & Pa

3) No tellin' tales or gossipin'

4) Git yourself to S unday meetin'

5) Put nothin' before God

6) No foolin' around with another fellow's gal

7) No killin'

8) Watch yer mouth

9) Don't take what ain't yers

10) Don't be hankerin' for yer buddy's stuff

Now that's kinda plain an' simple, don't ya think? Y'all have a nice day

We have those in  West Virginia too, but we call them " country ten commandments " lol     We have a big painted wooden thing hanging in our hall that says those lol

Re :   GRACEFUL EXIT

 Hello Lynn,

I don't think that you should quit or anything, you should refuse to perform for free, unless it's for charity or something,  you have the most beautiful voice that I've ever heard in any genre of music,     It would be awesome if you would record a new album, and make a music video,   what you need to do, to put you back on top, is to make an album that has something interesting, a duet or something, like Loretta Lynn did with Van Lear Rose,  just something that stands out from the rest of the albums,  maybe some of us on the board could help you come up with an idea that would sell

Good Luck !!!

Yesterday, My sister had a baby, she made us all feel older lol, she's just 20, I'm an Uncle, and my  Grandparents are Great Grandparents ( I'm sure they are happy to have that title lol )

I'm trying to insert a picture, I'm not sure if it will work or not

She's already getting ready to come home tomorrow, I'm sure she's happy about that, those nurses were being mean, they were rude to everyone lol, she named her Kallie Nichole     that baby definitely has her mommy's lungs, she lets out the longest, shrillest screams that I've ever heard a newborn have lol

She looks almost exactly like Kristen did when she was born

Re :   Teach Your Children Well

Lynn recorded "Teach Your Children" during the Polygram years (late '80s).

I sent that clip to John Marvel many years ago ... Lynn sang it on Nashville Now in 1991.

Re :   New Here

Hello Aaron,

You have a lot of catching up to do if you just discovered Lynn.

She has so many albums it's unbelievable.

Her latest album is "Cowgirl" 2006 but, she has talked of a new one here on the board. To my knowledge it isn't out yet.

Re :   Follin' or Follin' with fire

Hi Lynn,

I love the songs "How Could I Love Her So Much" and "Faded Love".

I guess my question is are you singing with Johnny on "Foolin" or "Foolin' With Fire" I'm very confused but, I have found the song "Foolin" on Limewire but can't find "Foolin' With Fire" to listen to and see if you're beautiful vocals are in it.

Re :   JERRY REED

Still wondering if anyone has access to the nifty Series
with Jerry Reed and Ray Stevens doing the "Summer
Replacement" for DEAN MARTIN?

I think I'm included on the Dean Martin Series that's out
now ...  but I don't think they've re-released "Music
Country USA".

Anyone got info?

Re :   How Could I Love Her So Much

"How Could I Love Her So Much" is the duet I remember
with affection singing with Johnny Rodriguez.  Wonder why
they didn't give me credit on the CD?   I know they did on
the single when it was out on the Radio.

Also sang "Faded Love" with JR on the 100th Birthday of
Bob Wills a couple of years ago.  We did it half in English
and half in Spanish.
