What a great freeze frame!  I have no idea.  I think Jacob may be some supernatural being that is stuck somehow and for some reason needs Locke's help. And according to that picture, he is also apparently Matthew McConaughey!

I think he is supernatural. But I don'tthink he is a ghost or spirit. I think he is a state of mind . Like a psycic image from a place between time. like the astral plane. They say a place with a high Electromanetic content can pick up images from the Astral plane and usualy troubled young one's see it. Ben and Locke both share a bad family life. That explains why their mind can see him or hear him. Ben has had more time to master Jacob's ability or so he thinks.

 One of my friends seem to think that maybe it's Locke in the picture. That's he's really Jacob.  But I'm not sure how that's comming. Also, the whole Dharma incedent with the sickness. What if that never happened? If they were killed by Ben and the hostiles, then they must've taken over their equipment and technology. Is it possible that the videos we've seen of the hatch and the pearl were false? That they were purposely created to keep the button pressed to keep certain events in place?

This show is so flippin' awesome!!!!

Yeah, I agree--I was also thinking that now we know  what the the great "sickness" was that has been mentioned a few times.  It  was some kind of biological or chemical weapon==not a naturally occuring virus.  Do you remember the shots Charlie found and gave to Claire?  I wonder if it was just the antidode to counter the effects of the gas , not an actual vaccine.

I guess if everyone was killed by the gas, there wouldn't be anyone around to worry about making an antidote for the gas would there?

The gas event and the sickness are two different things I think, and I still don't believe there ever was an actual "sickness".

The sand is I believe ashes. Part of witch craft/satanism/dealing w/ ghosts and spirits is that you can either protect yourself in a ring of ashes, or trap the entity in a ring of ashes!! Comeon.. doesn't anyone know anything about summoning demons anymore)

I dont think its lock at all. i think the picture shows the man with long hair look closely at the sides of the head. I definetely believe its something bible or faith related like maybe the second coming of god/jesus christ. maybe richard is a messenger since he found ben and also goes back 2 the real world to take people back 2 the island like with juliet.

Also, if ben and richard etc are hostiles and killed the dharma initiative people, who is dropping the food on the island which is stamped with the dharma initiative. Also why would richard have gone 2 get juliet in the first place? and we know that the rest of the others were never born on the island ben included... this means richard was.

And another question i feel must be answered is, if the dharma initiative wer all killed... who was kelvin joe inman the guy that was in the swan station with desmond originally? he was obviously an other, who wanted off the island just like juliet does now. there is so much 2 be explained....

Yes it was from the latest episode. It was flashed really quick during the "shaking shack" scene.  I think right before or near the time that Jacob pushed Ben into the wall. Its easy to miss tho.. very quick flash

Thank you for the image! I never would have seen it on my own. I copied it and enlarged it and lightened it even more. The man looks like something from the 1700's. He has a coat over a shirt that looks like it has a cravat at the neck. He has a high forehead, a knot on the bridge of his nose, and I believe a mustache similar to a fu man chu. His hair is longish and it fades out too much to tell if it is tied back like they used to do. Actually, he is not a bad looking dude!

Wow.. kinda explains going into hiding eh?  Seems like Mr. hanso wanted to "fix" his mistakes by perhaps going in hiding.  Kinda hard to understand the letter in reference to the possibility of him being Jacob.  It definitely makes ya think tho.  I think it would make sense that Hanso is jacob.. but if he is.. how did he get to be such a puppet under Ben's control?

That's too bad.  I was really beginning to form my own little theory about it being Locke - I was thinking about how Desmond is doing some "time traveling" and thought maybe it is Locke, but at a different time....hum...sounded better in my mind
