at the end a rescue boat comes and takes 'the others' thinking they where on flight 815 leaving Jack and co on the island alone
do you know for sure, or is this just your guess?

i heard this from a very very reliable source that it's the ending of series 4 or 5 not the ending of the entire Lost program either her source is wrong but she wouldn't make something like that up

This wouldn't be the ending of lost, just the ending of the series if that DID happen, but no, I don't think that will happen.. It is a good theory though..
But, also, there is no way that they wolud LEAVE them there on the island alone..plus the Others are people as well they would WANT to get off.

yea but what if it is true and all we've thot we've figured out about the others turns out to be wrong and they crashed there to wow thats an interesting theory it'd be really evil if they took the others instead of jack kate sawyer, and the rest of the crew.....

if you read interviews with all of the cast, they dont even know all of the future or even backstory of their own characters. it is extremely unlikely that someone you know would have more information than the cast

I would need more evidence other than 'a reliable source'. If the source is so 'reliable' why are they giving away the endings....as someone said, and as cast members have said, they don't even know how it is going to end.
but anything is possible.
I would be pretty irritated if Jack was the last one left. That makes no sense to me at all unless it is part of an experiment. But still....

lol, reliable source, thats the funniest thing ive ever heard. unless ur source is J.J.Abrahams, then you dont know Jack, you probably dont literally know who Jack Shepherd is!
Remember Ben talking to Jack, Jack didnt believe the Others had contact with the outside world. when he found out they did, he asked if you can leave why are you here, or something to that effect. Ben replied "Yes, why dont we leave" not only that, but Ben said he has been there his entire life, and he is in the 40ish range, so he doesnt want to leave, atleast until they are finished there...
also, we dont know where michael and walt were sent, They are still part of the cast, and they will be back, so clearly they arent going home, they are probably going in circles

When ben says that "We have contact with the outside world" he doesn't show any evidence of actual contact. just some news which could have been picked up by a tv antennae or whatever. when be shows Jack the Betamax (lol) of the baseball game it looks pretty grainy - almost like a badly attenuated tv signal...theres nothing to prove that they actually have ACTUAL CONTACT with the outside world like phone calls or whatever.

Everyone's theories are good, but if you remember Ben (aka, Henry Gail) told Jack that he had lived on the island his whole life. So the island is his home. What's that all about? One theory I have is based on a book some of my students read years ago in school called, "I am the Cheese". Anyone familiar?? If I remember correctly it's about this little boy who is telling about his adventures and the people he meets/comes in contact with. At the end of the story, he is really in a mental hospital and his adverntures/people he converses with are there as well. What if Jack really is a doctor, but because of his inability to deal with being unable to "save" all of his patients has resulted in him becoming a mental patient in a mental hospital and everyone else on the island with him are their as well. They all (John, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, etc...) would have good reason to be there too. And the "others", are doctors at the hospital treating them. John told Mr. Eko when they found the ? hatch that he felt like a rat chasing a piece of cheese. I know, stinky isn't it. I hate the thought of this show being based upon that book and would be very disappointed if that was the direction they were going. They like to keep us all guessing, and that is one theory I have. Just wanted to share.

I'm still gutted they killed Eko off. He was my favourite character, badass turned goodass turned confused. And now turned DEAD! What's with the big break in the season? 81 days til episode 7? Did they do that last season? I'm in England so Season 3 starts tomorrow one Sky One with the first 2 episodes. I've been downloading them though so I'm up to date.

I loved Eko too. Hate that he was killed off as well....one of my fav characters also....Hope John was just dreaming??? What's with Desmond being able to see the future? Why could'nt he predict that, or why didn't they show that? Hate that the toughest guy on the island is gone. Booooo. Thought the beginning of this season was pretty boring, and then got a little more interesting, then killed off someone we liked. Booooo. Who's next John? I like him too.

Well on the special features on the dvd collection, the writers did say that they don't know what is going to happen to any of the characters. They just make it up as they go along. Literally.
I am sad that they killed off Eko he was a good character.
so it's basically a "Just wait and see" what happens.
I do hope the writers create a happy ending and maybe continue on to see how all the characters adjust back to a normal life at home.
We just have to wait and see.

I am aslo hoping for a happy ending and some sort of follow up if they ever get rescued. But at this point, a happy ending would be Kate, Sawyer and Jack making it back to the beach!!!
