Not currently being a KMA member myself, I do not view this as being offensive but more of a concern as somtimes people go by different names. I am sorry that you were offended but Cheryl is very approachable and likes to do a thorough job. I hope this helps and I hope to hear about your Kiger experiences.

Hi Cambria L, nice to see you here! Unbelievable! I can vouch that you are NOT Cambria Harkey. If someone had done their homework, they would see that Cambria Harkey has been a member off and on with the KMA for a few years, and that Cambria Harkey has even attended several KMA meetings, shown a horse at Kigerfest, etc. It is unfortunate that the KMA is now policeing memberships, and even more unfortunate that they are doing it discriminatively. Or, quite possibly, you are under suspicion solely due to association. Why don't you ask Cheryl why your check was cashed if there was a problem?

The last time that I looked at a KMA membership application questions concerning who you know were not part of the application. There is no relevancy between who someone knows or who they are related to. These questions are now being asked of this KMA member. Cambria is LIVID that she is being asked who she knows. She also stated that she does not want Cheryl listing who she is or is not related to on a public forum. Her privacy is her business, no one else's, and she asks that the KMA respect her right to privacy. She just had surgery today and asked me to post this for her.

The principals of the Federal Privacy Act prohibits the disclosure of personal information to a person, body, or agency unless the individual concerned has consented to the disclosure.
The KMA Membership Application gives permission for KMA to "publish name, location, and contact information on the KMA website, where deemed appropriate".
The information obtained by Cheryl Walsh, KMA Membership Director, and disclosed on this open forum was neither given by the individual concerned, nor was permission granted to disclose such information concerning who may or may not be a family member. It appears that the privacy of both Cambria Liming and Cambria Harkey have been violated with no respect for Federal law.

Well it looks like business as usual - "rules - rules - we don't follow no stinking rules" This BS is beyond reason or explanation. I can not even begin to understand how this comes about.
Elections are at the annual meeting or at special meetings scheduled 60 days in advance with written notification of the membership 30 days in advance. So how does the board expect to hold legitimate elections at kiger fest? .

If the membership is fed up with all the gobbledygook being dished out by the Board of Directors, then they need to quit bellyaching, grab the reins, and elect members to the Board (both directors and officers) that are representative of common goals and ideals of the majority of the membership. Simple idea - tough job.
