Hello everyone! Every mustang lover should have this book! Written in 1934 it has just recently been re-released. It will not disappoint. Has all the Spanish horse information in an easy reading story. Claybanks were mentioned many times along with the coyote dun descriptions that sound just like what we know of as the Kiger! The course of the Spanish occupation up the middle of the country into Canada and down through Washington and Eastern Oregon was very interesting! Go out and get a copy and then we can talk about it! I've got this book, too, and really enjoyed it. I liked the early history of the horses, and there is a whole chapter called "The Coyete Dun and other Cow Horses". Very interesting reading!

It was a great read. I found an old copy. What did you think of running the mustangs until the weanlings dropped out and then followed the riding horses home? I wonder if this is where the practice of weaning at 4-5 months got started?

Neat old book that I have owned for years. Poor book is falling apart so I probably need a new copy. I am glad to hear it is being reprinted. It has wonderful stories and information in it; I have always enjoyed reading it since I bought it second-hand when I was 14.
