I received a phone call this morning asking permission to post part of one of my posts on the other forum. I gave my permission. I do not even know that forum's web address anymore, so could not do it myself or go later to give my public approval over there. If you would like me to go there and reitterate that, I will. Just, could someone give me the address please?

Hi Deb,
I was made aware of your permission given to Betty for posting. No problem there.
There was a posting made to the "other" forum that did not have the permission of the original poster. Permission had only been given to one permission with the stipulation that the post be made in full. Instead, another decided to 'take' the post and post a portion of it on the forum without asking the author. Unfortunately, it was taken out of context and construde to make a point that had nothing to do with the original post intent or ideas. Hence the warning.

I can only imagine...actually, I would prefer not to. I am relieved that you were not referring to my post being copied over there. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

Hello All-I have received complaints regarding the copying, transfering of people's posts without their implied consent. Please, before you copy someone else post on a public forum, get their full consent to re-post their words. Unless otherwise permitted, you must post their entire post.By taking posts from one forum and transferring them to another forum without consent of the writer, you are technicial committing a crime.Jillian McIntoshBoard Owner
Hi guys-just found your forum. I usually don't post at Kiger Forums, since I don't own a Kiger. However, I am occasionally refered to an issue or post, so I do read the forums.
Anyway, I just wanted to make the point that copyright laws do not apply to quoting someone when refuting the information being quoted. For instance, if a newspaper publishes and article or editorial, and you wish to refute the information, you may quote it for that purpose, and you do not need permission of the author. I would assume that would apply to message board posts also.
