I am in a desperate situation...or should say my horse is....I only have one horse and am unable to find a farrier who is reliable and consistent in my area.  I live in the Karns area, off Oak Ridge Highway.  I know part of the problem is my horse just needs trimming and no one wants to drive the distance with the price of gas, etc for one horse.  I have had farriers not show up, not return the second time and not return my calls, even though I have offered to pay gas mileage for the extra expense.  My horse's hoofs are cracked and long.  I continue to do the usual picking, etc but I leave the trimming to the experts.

I would like to get another horse but am fearful that I would have 2 horses with bad feet and no one to do proper trimming and care.

I am hopeful that Jasmin will be able to help me.  My horse is a kind and gentle fellow, doesn't mind his feet being worked on.   I will give Jasmin a call...

Do you come as far over as Crossville Tn? And you said you do all breeds, does that include donkeys and mules? If you do those as well as horses I'd be very interested in speaking with you. Just for the record, our mule and donkeys are easier to handle than a lot of horses.

rotho56, try Randy DeBord. I know he has other customers in that area and may be able to get to you.

We've been using Randy for about 4 years now. He calls to verify his appointments and has never stood us up.

edited to take his phone number off. I'll send you a personal msg. He may not appreciate his cell number floating around the internet...

Yes I do do Mules and Donks!  I do quite a few of them infact.  A one horse owner is always overlooked, But I do alot of one and two horse owners.  They are in need of hoof care just like the big boarding stables and farms!!

Do poor non-profits get discounts if we have more then 1?

How about ones who have had very little handling.

I do work with ones that have very little handling, from yearlings to old.  I do alot of rope work which is less traumatizing to a horse that has not had much handling or any at all.  Talk to me we can work something out for Non-Profits!!

And it was my pleasure to come out and do Sun Dee!!! He's a sweetheart!!!

No, its this stupid keyboard. I'm working off another laptop and the key board likes to skip around. If you looks close you'll find the rest of "shoes" in another area.

Nice site! I like the information pages for people to understand problems dealing with the hoof. I also like the links to farriers across the United States. I hope to get to call you soon. I haven't forgot you. It has just been very hectic lately. Thanks for the link!

You might want to post some pictures of what horse feet shouldn't look like. If you need some I have plenty.
