Hey guys and gals,  I have been so focused on offshore fishing I haven't been inside for awhile.  Any reports on stripers?  I just had the one a week or so ago on worms, at the rip, broad daylight, incoming tide.    if you don't want to share the info on the infamous world wide web, can you throw a guy a bone and email me?   thanks,  Case

ps   I hope I don't sound too desperate, but isn't the message board for this kind of stuff?

Some title Casey.  I thought we turned the board into a hooker haven to get more traffic?

I heard of some shorts being caught in the river, on worms.  If anyone is catching outside they sure are being quite about it for now.

Ron,  from what I can see, most people just read headlines, so I tried to catch some attention... thanks for your report.
Mike, if your still looking,  maybe you should get a new prescription for those glasses,  Patty is right in front of you...

Greg V. Said he tried floating some worms in the river Thursday evening,  didn't get a touch. His Monger trip, for today, got canx. He may try the river, in his tin boat, for a while today.

I read Shinnagans got a bunch of big blues trolling plugs in the back of the bay yesterday.

Weather looks like crap until Friday.  Def. need to get out and do some scouting before the Tournament.  As does everyone else, I will be sure to post exact locations if I find fish before the Tournament.

If only the weather would cooperate, it would keep you guys focused on fishing, instead of a direction of non-fulfillment.

Yea, what he said!  What did he say anyway?

At this rate I may not get out until the Thanksgiving trip on Fins on Feathers!

I read steve's comment so fast I thought he wrote monofilament instead of non-fulfillment... my mind is really in the gutter...

Striper fishin has been OK for me.  Not a lot of big fish around, but a good number of fish up to about 15 pounds.  My friend got a 25 pounder the other night, but I have not had much success with big fish.  Most of the fish I have caught have been at night.

I have been fishing the:

Highlands Bridge (bass there, but also a lot of blues)

Shrewsbury Rocks - Really up and down.  Have had a couple great nights, but have also taken the skunk a few times.

In Between the Channels - Consistent on worms and eels.

SH Channel - Been some better fish, but not a ton of fish.

Breezy/Ambrose/tin Can Grounds - Consistent, but not big fish.

East River - Consistent, but not big fish.

If you want more details feel free to give me a call.

Just picked up this post, from a former Hi-Mar member, on another site.

"On Tuesday night fished the Shrewsbury River worming and throwing shads. Caught two keepers 31" and 32" at the same time and 6 shorts on the worms. Caught another short on a shad and had a few bluefish.

Wednesday night caught two keepers around 30" and no shorts. Also caught some bluefish on the shads."

Well,  I didn't make it tonite,  oh well   thats the way the sinker snags...  Thanks Ron,  I saw that post this am and was looking forward to trying a couple of drifts, but just not able to get out.  how was the bottom fishing?   you said you had some filets,  so I guess you got some keepers.   good job, i'm glad you got out.  hopefully Sunday will calm down and I can get out then.

Went back to the Shrewsbury River on Thurs Eve 10/1. I got a 31" bass. Paul got 3 short bass. We both got bit off by blues (felt like nice size) and I broke off a mystery fish that we never saw close to the boat. Nice night on the water. All fish on worms

Way to go Greg.  I knew you would find them if they were there.

Casey, Fished on the Dorthy B.  Mostly Porgies, I had 10 or 12.  Not exactly drop & reel but good to be out on the water again.  I might have had a few more but I spent the last two drops sharpening my Tog fishing skills, with no sucesses.      Some keeper seabass caught.  Oh yea, I had one blowfish. Long time since I saw one.

I figuered the high number of views was directly related to the title of the post!  Good luck Sunday.
