RE:Web Site Updates
(Date Posted:09/13/2009 2:50 PM)
Alan, Could you add the following to the website RE: Tourney 10/23; 1. Separate tab/link to the upcoming Hi-Mar Tourney (10/23) that shows the poster w/info.? 2. A link so people could download an entry application & print it to/on their own printer/computer? I'm sorry if this is alot of work. The reason I'm asking is that I went to the Fisherman's Seminar @Huntington, LI & I was talking to people RE: 10/23 Tourney & people asked where they could get an application & info. That's why I'm asking.
Another thing we as a club should do is to start posting on other websites about our Tourney. I, for one, can help with this! But I dont know some of the websites that others may know so if a bunch of us chip in, we can get the info. out to as many websites as we can & hopefully, increase participation. An advertising commitee???
Has anyone cantacted the Fisherman Magazine? Noreast.com magazine? It has to go in early so it can get to print in the current issue. NY/NJ Outdoors? The Asbury Park Press? Journal News? Just a few off the top of my head. Maybe we can explore this more... Just a few ideas.... OK....Thats all I got!

So happy to see that other members are stepping up. (Now I can step down, at the end of the year, knowing that the jobs will be done.)
Many things suggested have been done, or at least tried. Better to join the committee and see what has been done or what still needs to be done, so that we don't seem to disorganized or repetitious. Those that would like to be involved with the Fall Tournament please contact Bob Kamienski.

Alan, thank you for the updates, we appreciate the work you put into this. I agree with Ron, I think you and Chaz make good officer material. Get the ballots ready...

Chaz,
I believe everything you are looking for is located on the site and the links are there. As for the advertising please reach out to the tournament director and he can go over what we do and do not do. Most of the members spread the word about the tournaments over the various message boards they are on.

Chaz, Some of our computer committee were busy fishing thru the summer.(After all we are a fishing club) A lot of what you asked for was just recently done by one of our newest members, Tim. That seems to have inspired others to get back on track. Like I said, it is great when the new blood gets involved, hopefully this will keep the club from getting stagnant. Some of the other stuff you mentioned, posting on other website, notifying various media, etc., I have been doing for some time while begging others to get involved. Looks like someone is finally listening!

I am going to give up working on the Web site. I wasted many hours work creating a full site build to find that changes were made in duplicate at the point I was loading my changes. I then wasted most of my weekend trying to ensure that all of the changes I made to my local build did not undo what was done by somebody else. I will not work that way!
