HI-MAR Striper Club was proud to host our second annual "TAKE A SOLDIER" fishing trip on August 13,2009.
The trip was an evening of blue fishing for some wonderful men and women from Maguire Air Force base.
The HI-MAR club was more than willing to HONOR our active members of the armed forces. Just away of giving back to the men and women who put themselves in harms way so we can sleep comfortably at home. Most of these soldiers may not get the opportunity to fish.We were glad to provide this trip.
We had this group out in the nick of time as most were being deployed in a few days from our trip date.
Our trip was on the verge of cancellation from Mother Natures wild day of thunder storms. But 3 PM approached /the skies cleared and off we went to the
bluefish grounds.
Although we rolled in a pretty good heave from the swells most of the night we had a grand time.
Fishing started out slow but we picked away most of the eve and ended with way more than enough for everyone to take home.
Bent rods and sore arms were the thrill of the eve and multiple hook-ups made it even more of a wild scene as we untangled, gaffed, and re-baited for the next round.
When the trip was over and we returned to the dock, the CLUB was presented with a plague inducting the HI-MAR Club into the "ORDER of the BAYONET".
Each club member will be proud to display that on our wall.

The HI-Mar Club would like to THANK all of the sponsors that pulled together to help make this trip possible.

Well Ron you covered alot of ground .
I'll add Sebastians hairem for the beverages (Ron and Cheryl)
Capt.Robby Barradale and Jeremy for donating their time for the trip.
Eagle Charters for the trip in itself.
Ron  "REELRON" Mac. for his behind the scenes hard work putting the donations together.
w/o Ron's efforts we wouldn't of had half of what was donated.
THANK YOU
To each and every member who hustled their ass on that trip
ED/Chas/Ron /Bruce/. for untangling/gaffing and helping make this trip a great success.
Jeremy had his hands full and the crew jumped in and made things happen very smoothly.
This is our fourth night bluefish trip w/Capt Robby and the Eagle crew.I only wish our fluke trips turned out so well

HI-MAR Striper Club’s August 2nd Sunday fishing trip

The HI MAR club hosted a fishing trip for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

of Monmouth County.

Our trip started out with threatening skies and nasty reports for the afternoon.

Capt. Jack kept us close by and we fished Sandy Hook Bay hard for the time we had on the water.

Lots of fluke were boated and a number of close runner ups for the box but only five made the grade.

Largest looked in the 4 pounder bracket and the rest of the 5 were not lacking in weight.

The majority of the day was bent rides and some smiling faces despite the shorts, sea robins and weather. The kids were fishing and catching so success was achieved.

All the kids on the boat returned to the dock happy and well fished out.

And as for the weather, Capt. Jack had us back on the dock roughly 20 minutes before the nasty squall line moved in on us for the day.

Many Thanks go to Capt. Jack Bevins and Paul Bedford for the great trips you guys provided us on the BINGO  this year.

Special Thanks go to Pete of  Atlantic Highlands Bait and Tackle for everything you provided HI-MAR with this year.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MANY special THANKS too all that helped out on these trips in 2009
Mark/Ron/Bruce /Ed/Scott and Greg/Bruce and Gina Thanks for making these trips so easy to pull off.
Would not have been able to do it with you guys and gals.
