I'm searching for two songs which I think could be inspirational to someone I know going through a very hard time. The first contains lyrics more or less "... yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery. Today's a gift, that's why they call it the present" I have only heard this once over the radio and did not recognize the artist. I will rush to buy the CD if I can locate it.The other was a hit several, maybe many, years ago, and I believe won a CMA award. It was about speaking at an AA meeting. I remember the line "....I know for us it may be too late, but it would ( something like mean the world to me if you were there) when I stand up to say...."Thank you in advance for any help with this.
I am back with the lyrics I said I would post for you and here they are. Deanie
KEEPING THE FAITH
RICK TIPPE
Norma sits all alone in the waiting room
The nurse says your test results are in
Doctor will see you soon
He says I'm sorry but there's no good way to deliver bad news
My hands are tied, so the best thing I can do is share these words with you
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift, that's why it's called the present
As long as you can keep the faith
Hoping love will lead the way to a new beginning
For now heaven can wait
Keeping the faith
Norma sits all alone in her living room
She wonders how she'll tell her family, and they should be home soon
Her husband says I promised you for better or worse
He holds her tight, says we'll win this fight
The key to life is in these words
He said
Chorus
Eight years have come and gone and Norma's doing fine
She's reaching out helping others that're just beginning their own fight
She tells them
Chorus
Yesterday is history, keepin on keepin on
Tomorrow is a mystery, keepin on keepin on
Heaven can wait, keepin the faith
As long as you can keep the faith
