Hi,

I'm looking for a photo or description of how the truss rod was installed on mid-1960 Melody Makers.  I believe the truss rod anchor is located beneath the 21st fret. Ahead of this (toward the nut), a maple filler strip was installed over the truss rod. Behind the anchor there is typically a second maple filler placed in the void left when they machined the truss rod route. I do not see this  1/4" wide filler on the end of my neck. Could they have used mahogany here instead. A picture of a neck with the fret board removed would be very helpful.
