Hi there,

I live in a mint Mark 2 converted minibus, 3.9 Perkins Turbo Diesel automatic (its the photo in ur gallery that you said you couldnt remember who sent it Greg!). Its 24ft long and used to belong to Tower Hamlets Borough Council, used as a disabled childrens' school bus. Its still got the wheel chair lift under the body, though Im taking this out soon and dumping it (anyone want it?!). It used to be a lurid shade of lime green, but is now resplendant in olive drab and matt black, currently residing on site in Brighton. The reg is K881 LMH and I call him Tank!

Cool.

We have just bought a Dodge 50 coachbuilt Motorhome, going by the name of "Celtic Warrior " (that's a hard 'C' !!) She's an '87 model running on a Perkins 3.9 diesel.

Registration Number D450NKG.

We bought her from N. Wales, and the V5 doc' says she was previously sold from St Helens, Nr Liverpool ...so we think she's a Northern Lass...but we'd love to know more if anyone's got any info on her past history , or any ideas how you can find out ?

We're planning to spend some time & money getting her restored to her former glory. I have sent a couple of pix to Greg for posting in  the gallery, look out for the beige & brown beast. We'll email some new pix once she's done up & lookin proud.

I'm sure we'll be posting plenty of messages in the near future for tips on where to get everything from a good reliable service, to new bonnet badges !

Keep ya motor runnin'

Mick & Dave ...the new Celtic Warriors.

Hi there,

I have a Dodge 100 Commando 2 G10 bus - Wadham Stringer Vanguard body. Just in the process of converting it to a motorhome, 80% completed and just been prepared for MOT for the first time since 1999. Ex-london council - E597 MYE. I saw the sister bus, E596 MYE, on Ebay a couple of months ago. It was still fitted out as a bus but I don't know where it's gone now.

My S56, reg G487 HFV, is a wheelchair bus from St Helens, I got it from Joe's Garage in 1999.

I trundled it around Europe a few times and over to Goa and back; it's now resting in Czech.

And I've got a G10 wheelchair bus that's doing much the same..

I'm trying to accumalate dodge bits, bobs and parts on a farm in that part of the world (Czech, not Goa). If anyone's got information about scrapped, dumped, broken dodge 50s in central europe, maybe they could drop me a line..

Bottle Green and black
Reg: f360 gkn (1989)
Dormobile

Got it from a nursing home in watford which was used for day trips and had all medical stuff on board. Converted it to motorhome straight away about four years ago and just starting to put electrics and leisure battery in which I know not enough about. Love me dodge and it one of my favourite things. Need another couple of seats if anyone had tracking four bolt removable seats like the ldv tansit minibuses have. Also would like the dodge letters on the front of my dodge.

The Gerkin as we call her resides in tottenham.Text to be set font.

I've just aquired 'Joe' - a 1989 MkII S56 hopper'bus  with a Reeve Burgess B28F body. It first saw service in nottingham, with nottingham city transport and since then has progressed through 2 further owners the last of whome decided to convert it into a mobile poledancing club, complete with leather sofas and pole! Rescued from vandals who reduced the interior and most of the glasswork to splinters, Joe is destined to become my european home-from-home next summer! Woo!

hAVE A DODGY S56 BUS, B Reg declared manuf. 1985, off Molesworth Air Base. Home for thirteen years or so, its been through the wars and you can tell. Currently off the road being renewed though its been slow progress. Have a new clutch and rear gearbox seal now, and there's a 3/4 stainless steel exhaust I'm trying to work out how to fit. Then there's everything else......
Just been given a S66 Mk1 to strip, it's a revelation, all the bolts are easy to undo! Am undecided how far to go with tranferring bits, hardly any of my bolts are easy to undo and I've been advised not to start on anything that works ok at the moment. Can see their point but some of these bits look distinctly better. Will keep as many parts as possible so as to keep the bus running as long as possible cos I love the damn thing

Below is a copy of the original vehicle order / spec sheet from it you can find out which engine (perkins phaser 90) and gearbox (ZF 5 speed) are fitted, axle ratio, its a 5,600kgs taxable weight vehicle, it was white, has a translucent roof, a wider rear step etc......and was finished on 29/09/89.

 Ello!

I have 3 Dodges at the moment..!!! My main one is my Red and Yellow Circus Dodge 50 HYF 929W, s46 4 cylinder, no turbo or phaser, the next is a gorgeous ex-Library bus D41 XRT s46 (I think - it has the round headlights) 6 cylinder Japanese build, and the 3rd is a mini bus, (again round headlights) but is stripped of many parts now.. and will be scrapped once all goodness has been removed! (again I will look up the Reg when I next get out to the yard).

Being based in Brighton there are at least another 8 I know of, a red and black one, a silver one, a red 100 series, a black and red ex library, and there's definitely a green one, a red, grey and black one, a short wheelbase blue one, and a white 100 series in use by a forestry group. Another one has also recently turned up in the yard.. a friend is looking for interest at the coming dodge do, but I may grab it if no-one else goes for it as I need an engine for my white one - anyone know if 4 cylinders will fit into 6 cylinder spaces?

 Hi Duff

You can fit a 4 cyl into a 6 cyl space, the engine mounting holes in the chassies are already there as they are different on the 6 cyl but you will need to use a gearbox that is designed for the new engine (well this depends on what gearbox you already have as you might be lucky there) and also will have to change the front part of the prop for a longer one you will most likely need a 64 1/2 inch front piece (but you will need to measure this up) need more info, just ask.

We have a blue bus, F171 SGM.  It has an Eberspacher heater and a wood burner.  It's just failed its M.o.T. on brake lights, seat belt and a brake, although it was in use up until then.  We are fed up with it.  Please buy it.

Ok my 1990 S56 ex Leeds City Council Welfare Bus, G704 NUB. Chassis number SDGB56AOFLD222817, 23 1/2 Feet long with an Optare Body.

I also have this chassis number SDGB56AODFD216225 D856 LND was owned by G.M.P.T.E.of Manchester. I am sure this is now owned and was restored by Forum Member 'Littlegem' during 2004/5.

Hey - I think we may have just bought a sibling of your bus - ours is an orange ex-Leeds Council welfare dodge 50, registration G702 NUB!

He's already been converted  for living/travelling inside but has been a bit neglected in recent years so he's needing a bit of tlc from us but is lovely & basically sound  and we can't wait to get on the road...

Hiya
Just joined in the forum. I have a Dodge 50 bus that was registered in 92. I have not seen another one like it in any pictures so you will probably know more about it than I do. It was a 16 seater that was owned by a home for the disabled in Devon. It has a fibreglass body which is why I wanted it. I have converted it to a motorhome and have had great fun living in it in Southern Spain. Back in Cornwall now but returning to Spain soon in the old girl.....gonna see if I can post a picture but don't know how

I got your email and was about to post the pic up....and low and behold here it is.
Yes you don't see many dodge 50's with that body fitted, does it say anywhere who the body builders were?
It isn't one I recognise.

 Hi

I dont know if anyone can help me on here?  I am looking to preserve a Renault Dodge S56 with Reeve Burgess bodywork (preferably an ex Plymouth Citybus with batch reg no's D1** LTA, there were approximately 80 of them).  However if a Plymouth one is not possible then any one will do!

I am in Plymouth, Devon and would be happy to come and look at any if you know the where abouts.

My email is nickfuzzy@hotmail.co.uk

Cheers

Nick
