I'm lucky I'M the first person to see this post!!! Glad you watched the Gabon Survivor! Wasn't it HILARIOUS when Randy played the fake immunity idol??????? OMG - I laughed SO dang hard I cried!!! It was a good season - best in a few years, in my opinion!
I'll have you know that I HAVE kicked around the idea of applying again. I still have some of those Yellow Cassette Tapes! Ha! I asked my mother, now that she's retired and all, if she'd watch the kids and she said - without hesitation - "No." So I'd have to really figure out childcare - that's my main issue. So if people would help me out on that, I'd LOVE to re-apply and hopefully actually get on this time! I'd even say that I'd lose a few more lbs to do it!
If you find out the details and email the link for me (like when the applications are due) I'd apply again - IF it's okay with Clayton, of course.

You can always turn it down later if childcare can't be worked out. But let's face it... I would help out if I could, and Clayton would do what he needed to do as well. I'm sure there are a few people (at least) who could help out from the Women of Today. (What a *fabulous* PR opportunity for Women of Today, to say that the EP Member is on "Survivor"). Quit being a Wally. You can do this. You are great. You could outwit, outlast, and outplay any of those people any day of the week! I want to see you do this amazing thing for yourself. Plus, you could have that 4 season porch you've always wanted, after you got that pesky final tribal council out of the way. Do it for Mom. She'll be there right there with you the whole way, whispering how brave you are and how proud of you she is. You ROCK! Let's let the Survivor world know it, too! --Trish

I agree with Trish!!! (Hi! Trish) You would be great on Survivor. I think I would even become a fan! I myself have never watched the show, but if you were on it....... I'd be glued to the TV. Just think, you could also start some other Extentions/Chapters of Women of Today?!?! with your networking skills!

Well - both of your votes are nice (wish you could be on the Jury!!), and I'll seriously think about this - and talk with my hubby about it - but there are a few things I need to think about before really deciding. The most important part, as you both (and anyone else reading this) would agree on, is my family - especially my three kids. I know Zoe & Andy would get it and be totally psyched about it - but Harry... he's the one I'm thinking about mostly. No one understands him like I do - and this is a big developmental year for him.
How about this... a happy medium... I'll promise to do the following:
1. Talk to Clayton about it.
2. Get in good shape for if it ever really were to happen and I were chosen.
3. Start getting some good 'footage' for my video that I have to submit... winter + swimsuit footage is sort of what I'm thinking... pulling a car around (me pulling the car) in the winter while wearing a swimsuit or something as such... I'll need good ideas here for this!
4. Get the application started.
But I'm not saying I'll get this in by Jan 14th in any way shape or form. It doesn't feel like the right time to be leaving Harry for 2-3 (or more?) months.
There... how's that?

Okay - well - I've done the following:
1. Talked to Clayton - he says, "Whatever." I'm sure he's sure I won't get chosen in the first place, and if I do, we can discuss if I can actually go or not. I need to read the 'fine print' of the application to make sure that if they choose me, and I CAN'T, I can back out of it if I have to. Other than that - he's a go. Ha!
2. Filled out the easiest parts of the application. There are parts I need help with or think about more. That's okay. I'll think on them and discuss with some friends/family.

Well - I've been thinking... now's just not the right time... I want to apply to Survivor as if I KNOW I'm going to get chosen to be on it, right? If I apply right now - I actually hope I'm not chosen just yet. Mostly because of Harry's issues, as well as Women of Today stuff, the kids' ages, and Clayton's work schedule. None of it is stable, really, or I'm needed in daily life in these things. So my thoughts are this:
I'll apply either the next go around or the one after it, assuming the show is still going. I think once Andy and Zoe are both in school full time, and Harry's issues have been determined more fully and he's grown up a bit more, and my presidency (if I get it) in Women of Today is over, THEN I'll jump in full force and really try HARD to get on the show. 2 weeks to get it all done is just not going to happen, either. And I don't feel fully committed just yet.
So there - I'll apply sometime in the next year from now. That's the best I can do for now! :) I hope you'll all help me with my application video and if I actually end up on the show, if you can support me and my family - that's how I'd feel comfortable doing it!

Sue Ellen - I totally understand....if you feel it's not the right time, then it's not. I'm a Survivor fanatic - tivo it every week, and adtually re-watched the Randy/fake idol several times, cracking up every time. You'd be a great contestant on this show, and I'd definitely be pulling for you. Survivor will be on for a lot more seasons, and you'll know when it's right for you!!
and don't think I won't be bugging you season after season.....haha

Thank you, Carol! I'm glad you agree about the timing! Trish called this morning and told me that she'll be bugging me next year (a little sooner than right now next year - since applications are due the middle of January), so the plan now is to try to get some good 'footage' for my application video! :) But now I have a year to do that! Could be a fun WT project, don't you think?? Ha!
