Just curious if anyone else has anything new, fun, exciting, interesting, educational, intriguing, or anything else to talk about here.

I have done a lot of posting to this forum as well as the Cyprus Women of Today forum, so you all know what is going on with me, for the most part.

I'm attempting to finish the laundry, clean up the house, and take a break the rest of today (watch the VIKINGS today at 3:15 for their first playoff game, too!), and tomorrow is the FIRST DAY back to school!!  Whoohooo!!!

I'm looking forward to getting back into normal routine again!  Yay school!  That's it for me today!

I think I should find a way to get myself a picture on here so I'm not quite so yellow and smiley.....

Hey, when does Melissa get home from Malaysia?

Ok. I registered. Once I had made a mistake and I had to do the entire thing again from scratch. It wouldn't process with me fixing what they wanted me to fix.
At any rate. I see the nickname thing gets listed like it's my name. I guess that's ok.
Like my new avatar?

It's much like this forum in usage, except I don't allow anonymous users posting, so you have click "join" at the top of the forum when you are logged in.  Guests can't post, so that is why you mightn't have seen where to reply.  Try again.  If you can't post, call me or Sue Ellen.  I think either of us could help. :D  I'd love to have you join the Cyprus forum... I don't edit myself nearly as much on that forum, because I'm the moderator.  It'd take a lot for me to shock myself. :D

Re:What's new?

In answer to Sue Ellen, Stuart is back at work, so the kids and I are home today after having lots of family time this week.  Stuart set up his toy cars in the spare bedroom, so there is a lot more room to play in the living room.  We also took down all the Christmas stuff last Friday, so it nearly feels normal around here.  Except for the 2 year-old triking up and down the hallway (he's a pedalling demon on that thing!) Quinn is getting a lot better on his scooter, too, though he does have a fair number of bruises.

Stuart has sent out a big email to Quinn's classmates, asking for toy car racing playdates.  He said mums could come, but they couldn't sit around eating bon bons, but they had to play, too.  That should go over well. :p

The feral cats are going into overdrive.  There are a couple of females in heat, and their nightly romps/fights disturb my sleep. The concrete walls of the building offer little insulation from noise, and their howls of pleasure and pain are so loud it seems the activities are taking place in my flat.  Sometimes I think it is the boys screaming, and I fly out of bed and  run into their room in the altogether and flip on the light, only to discover they are sound asleep.  Well, at least they were until their scary naked mother crashed through the door and jolted them awake.  Such is life.  Apparently I'm supposed to let Stuart check the kids because I have no stealth.

Ha, Trish... Stu's right - HE should be checking the boys in the night - you really do have NO stealth!

Kerry - good job figuring everything out with pic/avatar and the Cyprus WT forum!  :)  Fun stuff!

And Melissa comes home from Malaysia on the 10th of Jan (this Saturday).

:)  Later Ladies!  Kids are about up - I need to get some stuff ready - like food and school's snacks and such!

My "what's new" is that I started work again after 4 1/2 months...it was an alright day.  I like that my job allows me to sit at a computer and pretend to work if I need to.  The bad news was that I couldn't get on this forum from there :(

Evan did alright in daycare - but he was so tired when he got home because they had a hard time getting him to sleep.  He just took a few cat naps during the day.

Kerry, our friendship is new? :p  Yes, you are a member of my Cyprus forum and should be able to post now... I've even upgraded you to "Advanced Member" because I don't want anyone thinking you're normal.

Stacy, yesterday sounded so hard.  This whole week will probably be heart-breaking.  I'm so sorry you have to go through this.  There is a ton of stuff I wish I could say that would make it feel better, but it's all kind of empty in the end, because this is really all just about you and Evan.  Give him a cuddle and a kiss for me!

 Let's start to think weekend!!!
Anyone going to a movie?
I am going to see the new Clint Eastwood. He rocks my world.
John and I have set it for Sunday as a reward for tackling the basement.
I have been procrastinating doing some organization down there for years.

Saturday I am going to the Marketing, Membership Management, and Future Directions meetings - what fun!

Sunday I might go buy some new shoes if I haven't already by then.  I forgot how trashed my work shoes were and I haven't had a chance to go buy new ones yet this week.

So who can top that for excitement!

We went to see the Clint Eastwood movie, Grand Torino.
Very good.
And you know the lead boy is a high schooler from Armstrong!!!
MOvie was written by a Minnesotan.
And Clint is still cool.

Sydney and I went to Chuck E Cheese on Sunday - no food, just games.  It was nice because I got a little reading done while she played in those tubes.  Plus she really needed the alone time with one parent.

Sorry I've been gone so long.  Stuart, Geoff, and I got sooooooooo sick.  I've had a fever for 4 days now; yesterday it was up to 104 and I really wasn't making much sense.  I haven't been able to even look at computer without feeling ill.

I'll write more when I have more strength.

 What's new?
Well, apparantly alot of chat here on the forum. I've been absent somehow. PRobably a rhythm. thing. When I'm on, you're off.
And yesterday I stuck my head in a book and other than grocery store, that's all I did.
Today meetings all day.
Now, treadmill.
Then bills, etc. Then band practice tonight.
Nothing earth shattering.

 How about talkin' movies?
I went to see Slumdog. It was very good. And the soundtrack ROCKS!! I even downloaded it onto my ipod. Well, 6 songs of it. AND played it while on the treadmill today.
SO, let's see. Seeing movies helps you lose weight?
Can we go there? :-)

Kerry - I have heard good things about Slumdog too but I haven't seen it yet.  I have seen a ton of DVDs lately though...this week I watched Ghost Town and Kit Kitterage (yes I know Kit is a movie for kids - but I thought it was a cute story).  Ghost Town was okay - I wouldn't run out and rent it but if you don't have other ideas at the video store it might be worth a rental.

What's new? Well, apparantly my avitar has gone under the invisibility cloak....
But I need to report on a movie, Revolutionary Road. Ashley took me to see it, she works at a theater and can get us in free. Well, I expected very little. And that's what I have to say about it.

Howdy!  Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  Pete & Clayton are putting a water pump on the Toyota today - how very handy of them...I'll continue reporting on the progress as the day goes on.  So far, mass amounts of coffee are being consumed in an attempt to stay warm in the garage.

Nicholas, Zoe, Andy & Harry are playing Play Doh, and Nicholas just dumped out the entire box of 64 Crayolas in his attempt to make Mommy a valentine.  And here I am posting on the forum for the first time in...well, a really long time.

So what's everyone else up to?  Any exciting, romantic plans tonight?  I need to live vicariously, here people...

We went out to dinner Friday night, and that could've counted as our Valentine's dinner.
But on V-Day we went to Home Depot to learn about carpet for the house, ate at Wendy's, went to see "Yes Man" at the discount theater, and had ice cream afterwards at Coldstone.
And I got a wonderfully romantic card and "intense love" chocolates.
So I really liked our little V-Day.

By the way, is this forum public?

On V-Day we went to a bookstore, then bowling, then to IKEA and Target.  Fun filled day!  By the way - IKEA has a great play area for kids.  They must be potty trained and within their height range - I think it was 36" to 54".  It is free too.  So we just had one thing to pick up but we walked around the place twice to let Sydney play longer.  Bowling was a lot of fun - Sydney would start at the back, make a little screach noise, then run toward the lane, set the ball on the ramp and push it down.  It was so funny to watch!  We should do a family bowling day sometime.

We had a nice Valentine's weekend.  We went to the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra concert at Wooddale Church on Friday night and then stayed in Saturday making a homemade Italian supper (lasagna, focaccia bread, salad, cookies for dessert:-)

I'm excited for our meeting this week and next week we are going to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico for a winter getaway!!

My mom came to visit (and babysit!) for the weekend, so, after our appointment to do our taxes (which we couldn't complete because Wells-Fargo still hasn't sent out 1099s! Grr!), and after Nora threw up but then recovered, we went out on Saturday and poked around, saw the movie "Hotel for Dogs" because we both forgot until we were actually in the theater that there was a movie out there we would really have liked to see ("New In Town") instead of just settling for whatever, and went out for dinner at the seafood specialty Mexican place in Shakopee, El Korita. We got there early which was good, because there were people standing in lines waiting by the time we left. It's small (possibly an old Taco John's?), but good. The Valentine's Day special was surf and turf for two people, including dessert, for $20, and they also had live music and free roses for all the women. Now I will sink back into the huge work project that has been taking up all my February time. And Stacy, I think a family bowling day some time is a great idea.--Joanna

Joanna - I might need to try that Mexican place out.  I really like El Loro in Savage - but it is always really crowded and their booths don't work well for an infant seat (or a pregnant lady) so we haven't been there in a long time.

Was Hotel For Dogs good?
