The forum is getting a little slow, so I thought I would post some questions.

It is getting toward the end of one Women of Today year and the start of the next (for those that are new, our year runs from May to April)...and it is time to gather ideas for projects.

What projects do you enjoy?
What projects would you like to see added to our calendar?
What organizations would you like to support?
Any other ideas for the incoming board?

(Remember that you can share ideas at any time, this is just a time that we ask for them.)

Here are some of my ideas:
- I love the Santa letters and would love to do it again, but we need to figure out how to get more people involved.
- I would like to do a baby disco next fall/winter.  New Hope did one of these and they sound like a great way to recruit young moms.  I have gone to one in downtown Minneapolis and they are super fun!
- I would like to do the Relay for Life this summer (July 17) - since my family has been touched by cancer in the last few years - I really want to start becoming more involved in the relay.

OH - I almost forgot!  We mentioned on another thread but Joanna and I would like to do a fun family bowling day.

I love the Santa Letters, too, because the money we raise goes to organizations helping Autism.

I love the Share Your Light Nights because we learn so many new things and they're usually social events and good get-to-know-each-other events - and with all the new people in our chapter, we need those!

I'd also like to do some family-friendly events.

And I LOVE conventions!!  They are seriously fun - my abs almost always hurt when I get home from them from all the laughing!  And I'm not even exaggerating!  (I don't like the way that word is spelled... I had to look it up twice!)

I think this is a great idea. I would like to see more family stuff. Not that my kid would attend.
I had also thot and spoke to some of you about, the baby disco. I think that would be a great way to keep up with the under 40. Even if it's not my type of activity, I know others love it!!!! I'll be heading womens' wellness if I get voted in, and want to jazz it up, so there may be an increase in physical activities, whether it be bowling or learning raquetball, or whatever.

I like the social type stuff - getting together for drinks or dinner, the Share Your Light nights, the walks around Staring Lake when the only agenda is to walk and talk (and the weather is nice again!!)I also enjoy crafty things: the card-making for cards for seniors, fleece-blanket making. And I like the somewhat "political" guest speakers we've had: I've learned a lot (sometimes about who to vote for..and who not to) from the city council or school board people who have come to speak, and the city manager's presentations. I also thought the CPR course we did with the fire department a while back was really valuable.I would like to do more things that we can bring family to -- and I'd really like to figure out a way to iincorporate the young kids (the ones who are too young to help with a roadside cleanup or actually cutting and tying fleece blankets) *into* service in a hands-on way. --Joanna

I've been seeing a few ideas floating around the Internet for different kinds of swaps: might be fun to keep in mind for something like the "stuff" tables at meetings, or tying it in to our green focus. Things like swapping plant cuttings (unless you buy starters at Bachman's and support the chapter with the gift cards!) or a clothing/whatever swap.

I like the idea of swapping plant clippings - a lot of my plants died in the last few years and I want to have more again!  I have one that I could do a few clippings from.

I have to try to remember to go through my kitchen stuff...if anyone is reading this before tonights meeting...I need a new wine bottle opener with a foil cutter!  Mine just broke with a snap (injuring my finger in the process).
