So.... what's in store for YOU this summer?  Have any plans?

As for me and mine, my Mom is going to BC in June to visit my sister, my sister's daughters and Mom's FIRST GREAT-GRANDSON!   She is taking my brother with her, as my brother has NEVER been out of this province... NEVER been on a plane... so it will be a special treat for him.  I hope they enjoy themselves!!

In the meantime, while Mom is away, I will go and spend that week with my step-dad.  He is 83 and has a boat load of health issues and Mom feels guilty about leaving him.  So I will step in.  It will be a nice break from the ordinary for me too!

In July, I have two weeks booked for a camping holiday with my honey.  On Thursday, we will be wed 32 years!  WOW!  Time really does fly!  So our camping trip will be a lovely, peaceful break for us both.  We NEED it.  Being self-employed in the manufacturing industry is very stressful and a lot of hard work.

Here is where we will be going:

After that, my sister "says" she and her hubby are going to jump in their truck, haul their 5th wheel across the country and land here in August.  I will need your prayers if this happens.  LOL!  I am not keen on my "brother-in-law" and will have to be a REALLY good Christian woman!!!

So that's our plans so far.

What are yours??

This summer we do not have much planned as in the way of activity or major events. next month we have a small family get together for the 4th of july, we are also planning on taking a small raod trip to go fishing for a few days. My director has asked everyone to take a few days off in July and August to help maintain or cut our budget. July and August are perdicted to be our slow months, things are pretty bad in the casino's right now and to make things worst the casino company i work has set some ridicloulsy high goals for themselves where money is concerned, which means that every dollar lost needs an explanation. I think alot of people forget that sometimes casino's lose and the guest win.

several years ago i read a book and the author mentioned this interesting fact about winner's and losers where the casino's are concern.

if 100 people walk into a casino and those 100 people win, only 7 will actually walk out winner's, why? people the 93 will win, but will stay and continue play thinking they can win more, instead they end uplosing what they won and then chasing their lose's.  I have seen people up a few hundred in one hour and several hours later their down a  few $1,000

So as summer draws to a close here in another few weeks, how was your summer? Besides a family event in July and a road trip up to northern Nevada for some fishing (which didn’t go very well, not a bite) this summer was pretty uneventful. We did learn something though during our last fishing trip, if you are a self taught, experiential fisher person like my wife and I, “Google” is not your friend, we have decided that before our next outing, I am going to go to one of the local fishing classes, and actually learn from professional on how to fish.

Greetings hope everyone is having a great summer. We are peeping for the family reunion that takes place fourth of July weekend. The kids grandpa and cousins arrived this past Tuesday . their grandma has been here since May. They are going to be here till Thursday then  into the hotel were the reunion is being held. We are planning to spend next Friday and Saturday. We were going to spend the entire five days there, but with the kids summer camp we had to cut our days. Another thing is we live thirty minutes from the hotel and we are going to have people coming and going from the house. This week will be the first time in ten years all of my wife's siblings and parents have been together. Plus four editions our kids and the sister n law kids. It'll be nice. We don't get to see the wife's immediate family as much as we would like sonce they live onthe eaSt coast and in Louisiana. There has been a campaign off and on to get us to move. There is family here but there are different social cliques. Two or three times a year there are social gatherings for a few hours. The grandmother wants us to relocate to Louisiana (new orleans) because they are helping my sister n law with her kids because she has health problems and they are both in their upper sixties . the sister works (which no one knows how, according to the doctors she shouldn't be able to hold down a full time job. But she does. She has bad spells every now and then. I hate Las Vegas and the wife has begun talking about maybe its time to start looking else where. We both want to leave sin city and the casinos behind. We also don't want to raise our kids here. So far its been a good summer

Summer is winding down and what a summer it has been. We had family stay with most of it, the kids really enjoyed spending time with their cousins , they are planning to return next summer. In November we head for Florida we are trying to work it out where we travel up to new Orleans and spend s day with family.

the family reunion went smoothly for the most part, we missed  most of it since the planners decided to host during the forth of July weekend which are black out dates  for me and the wife meaning you can't take time off during those dates. I think we spent a total of eight hours of spending time at the reunion.  There was  some drama which we missed , apparently a lot of people were very unhappy with the way things where planned out. one of the big gripes was the choice of the hotel were it was hosted, it's located twenty miles away from the airport and most of the city activities. unlike the last several reunions where there has been a place for people to come and go 24/7 will the reunion was going on. this years planners decided  that they would rent a two room suite and that's where most of the family reunion official business would be handle.

The wife and I actually took the kids and left during one of the meetings because a discussion turned into a twenty minute long blame game, finger pointing. we didn't end the last official day. Several people wanted the wife and I to take back over the reunion planning. the two times the wife ran it everything was taken care of six months prior. She had hotel rooms line up, she found discount flights for people, made reservations  at restaurants, had transportation to and from places, she's a logistical guru.  This reunion a week out the planners were trying to jack up the prices. The wife however said no. she doesn't have the time  she's in management now her work schedule is unpredictable and then there are the kids. she also doesn't want to deal with all the bickering and complaining. she also stated she doesn't know where we will be in two years. she said it's time to get serious about getting me out of surveillance into another job hopefully in a correctional or some other related job.

The kids attended summer camp which went well. the first two weeks were touch and go. however both of the kids adjusted very well and both were very popular, I dropped them off one day taking the daughter to her class last as usual as I open the door and we stepped in several of the little girls saw me shouted it's Isabana's daddy and ran over to meet us , they and my daughter ran off holding hands giggling. the kids officially started school on Monday we kept them enrolled at where they attended summer camp. The nearly $900 a month we will spend for them to attend  will force us to tighten the purse strings but it has been so well worth it,  its been so amazing to watch them develop . They both know the alphabet , both can count ton ten easily, the daughter can some what count to twenty , of course elven doesn't exist 9it's 10, Saturday, 12, 13, 14 teen, teen, 17, 8, 19, 20.

well I must be off . I have laundry to get done, clothes to iron, towels to fold , dishes to wash and I need to vacuum today

Sounds like you're really enjoying your kids. Would that all parents were the same...

I absolutely love being a parent, there's nothing in the whole wide world that compares with it. Being a parent has been an amazing adventure. Watching them grow and develop is so incredible. We have been blessed with two incredible kids

Greetings, been a while since anyone has posted any these parts. Unfortunately the last few months I have been rather chaotic. There was an unplanned emergency surgery, car troubles and moving in with my wife's aunt. We completed the move on Monday. The surgery and car repair pretty much deleted our funds so we had to forego hiring movers .
As we were packing and deciding what we wanted to keep, we eventually decided all the furniture, bedding, refrigerator's cabinets etc could be donated.
Eventually we moved everything by our truck and car. We have been working on this move for three months. Two months was simply going through items deciding what to keep and what to let go. We have three misc boxes to sort and there is stuff in storage we will let go.
The real challenge was working around work schedules and dealing with the kids. But now it's over

Greetings from Las Vegas NV. Been a while since I have been here, hopefully everyone is doing well. I am keeping busy with the kids, our son wrapped up his time at the private school he and his sister attend. Because he completed his time there and won't doing the kindergarten class he isn't eligible for summer camp there.
Our daughter is technically enrolled at the school, but we have kept her home from school this summer. The last two summers they have been in camp, which is not cheap. This summer we decided to try and get caught up on bills, give our selves some breathing room. The last two weeks have been tough. We are currently dealing with a heat wave
This week each has been above 105, we have seen tempature in the 120+ area. When it gets above 100 we have a strict no kid travel policy, unless it's absolutely necessary.
So far it's been a very dull and boring summer
