My only CB kill was on a cottontail rabbit at the impossible distance of sixty yards with a 1950 S&W Target .45 ACP.  At the time I needed to make meat to make my contribution to that evening's stewpot.  My two older partners had each taken a sage hen, but I could not shoot sage grouse, being a non-Nevada resident.  I could hold my head up at the campfire, sure, but only I knew that it was blind luck.  Since then, small game has been decently harvested with a 22LR long arm, or a shotgun.  curmudgeon
