OK, for the record, I found a partial manual on the Anschutz site. It's discussion of trigger adjustment was positively laconic, but it got me started. The sear screw (transversely mounted on the trigger lever) that I thought controlled the length of the first stage movement actually controls the balance between first stage and second stage movement. The procedure as I worked it out is this: First back out the overtravel screw (longitudinally mounted in the trigger lever) several turns. (The manual doesn't mention this, but it is necessary.) Cock and release the trigger, then turn the sear screw ccw a quarter turn or so and repeat. As you back out the sear screw, the first stage movement gets longer, and the second stage gets shorter. When you get just to the point that there is no perceptible movement in the second stage, stop. If you go farther, there will be no second stage, and the sear will release at the end of a very long first stage. Now adjust the overtravel screw to your liking. As I interpret the instructions, you turn the sear screw OUT with the sear uncocked, and IN with it cocked. Anyway it worked for me.
