I think Ohaus is pre RCBS. I think RCBS took over Ohaus line of casting loading equipment at about the time I started pulin a press handle I think. Did I say I think? Cause sometimes when I say I think I realy don't I think.

.................Nimrod, welcome to the board. I wasn't even aware that TC had stopped making a 54 cal Hawken? I knew they made a 58 they called a Big Boar that they discontinued maybe 8-10 years ago. One of my shooting buddies, now gone to the big range in the sky had a 54 cal TC Hawken. He'd put a Green Mountain barrel on it with a faster twist to shoot TC Maxi-Balls better.

At his date I dont' recall the twist or the weight of the slugs, but he was using 120grs of Pyro RS. I do know that while he was working up hunting loads for that new barrel, he eventually got up off the bench. He used a 'C' clamp to attach a 1x2 to the post in front of the bench to rest the rifle on, and did the rest of his developmental stuff standing up. Even then that curved buttplate was evil incarnate!
