Too bad we could not get a little fire started somehow in the news media when then Senator Obama said how he felt that the CWVM would be an "appropriate honor." People on Fox News and or Republican candidates who are always looking for mistakes and problems about Obama could discuss this issue about his support for a CWVM by ignoring our letters to him on this issue.

Either sending e-mail, letters, tweets to Fox News is a WAST OF TIME.
I sent letters to all of the shows in December to see if they would do a segment for the 20th Anniversary of the Cold War.
Guess what....NADA, They are suppose to be Veteran Friendly, B.S, They don't give a Flying ***** on a rolling doughnut about Cold War Veterans, only to those that served after 9/11.
I did write to them about OBAMA's quote regarding the CWSM, another letter when Gary Powers was awarded the Silver Star.....NADA.
I backed up with e-mails, Tweets....NO friggin RESPONSE.
So why waste my time when no one cares!

You are right to be just as aggravated as me, Frank, Jerry, or anyone else about this situation. Somehow I still believe that if we stay the course, the right organization or individuals will take an interest in us and help us achieve our goals. By us quitting now, that would be exactly what people in the Congress and or the DoD would want us to do, give up and go home. I say, stay with it, even if our cause just irritates them.

Hey Folks met an 05 in the mall { poor SOB } one of them Tanker Drivers from Pease, a great person & funny as hell, he lamented how DOD would Not Spend the money for the medal & Is the Blocking force to its issue. I have the impression that we have Quiet support from some active duty members.
I shall not name him here given the fact he is still active duty, yet C you were the High Point of my day given the fact the physical pain I was dealing with, Best Wishes to you my friend it was a wonderful chat and you were all class given the fact I'd interrupted your lunch : )

A little article I read today in the Society of the Third Infantry Division's magazine(August, '12, page 20), about a little Cold War Service Recognition. The fella's deployed to the ETO might recognize some of this:
" Between April 30 and May 10, 2012, Major General lloyd Ramsey(USA Ret.) participated in V-E Commemorations in Germany, Austria, and France. General Ramsey arrived on 30-April, to Bad Brueckenau, Germany. On May 1st, a plaque was dedicated honoring the 3rd Inf. Division as well as all US Army units which had been stationed in the Rhoen area, during the Cold War. Bad Brueckenau is located next to Wildflecken(some of us remember this place very well)! A local mayor from the area, Mayor Brigitte Meierdierks' decided to dedicate this plaque to the Third Infantry's Division's Cold War Service..."
Too bad our generals and our so-called "allies," could not devote as much time and energy to Obama to help us out if they really appreciate our Cold War Service.
