OK, it seems I stirred things up a little. I did start a new petition for the Cold War Medal. I did this as an
individual not representing ACWV. It is on the Signon website, which as mentioned in another post is
which is hosted by Moveon.
It appears not everyone is overly fond of Moveon, be that as it may here is a link to the petition.
They do ask you to sign on to Moveon, but you can remove yourself from their list at any time, even
 immediately after signing the petition.

The website does say they will deliver to all of Congress and the President, but also mention that it would
be better if we were to deliver it in person. They also suggest we contact our local newspapers with letters
to the editor, or even an oped letter.

Really don't know if any of this will help, probably just be ignored the same as always and anything to
do with Cold War Vets.

Jerry

For the record I feel Jerry was not off base looking for support anywhere it can be found, It is not an easy task getting it, it is a constant uphill struggle for what has become the norm !

Just the other day DAV magazine { July-August } on page 15 had requested veterans of WWII, Korea,Vietnam, Persian Gulf, Afghan & Iraq contact them for a PBS documentary, in all fairness they were overwhelmed by responses { my E-mail kicked back } as my calls by phone have been lost in all the other veterans who called about being interviewed, this is just normal for our struggle it is an uphill battle, next the politics that find there way in, I have done the same blasted the members who support the toxic attacks aimed at Our Members who may support Liberals or Democrats & President Obama, I thought some folks might get the hint It Is Just Wrong promotes infighting, separates members and only weakens ACWV.

We need to remember attacking those we are seeking support from Hurts Us, I did not know if it would be safe to bring up PBS to general membership so I've only spoken to those I'd thought it safe to bring it up to, do we as a group want to have an environment like this ?

My feeling is that we as a group need to remember Neutral requires restraint please rethink the flaming remark that even if others let slide, may lose us support, I am sure those on both sides Not supporting each other has Lost Us Some Support when we need it.

The choice is up to each member Not To Support what they feel they cannot, just don't tear down in public, let them guess and lets keep this in house, I feel what happened to Jerry did not need to be said in this forum as well he has earned some respect & I feel trust he is doing whats best for ACWV.

Last independents Vote Both Ways, are the majority and decide what agenda wins the day, this is not just a left - right thing folks.

Thank you Jerry for all you did the past two years my best wishes

PNV

I was spit on by a MoveOn.Org member during the 2004 elections.  I was supporting George Bush and was wearing an Iraq and Afghan Vet hat.  The other people there were not to happy with the MoveOn.Orger.  Still, even with that, Obama (who could sign an Executive Order to create a Cold War Service Medal) does pay attention to Move On.Org.  So, I support Jerry on his actions.
