Jerry,

As much as I would like to attend, monetary issues will prevent it.

Good luck, I know you'll do a fine job as always representing the ACWV.

Hi, Jerry.  I will not be attending this years convention.  It is not a question of money or time.  It is just a question of principal. I wanted to be on the executive board but for whatever reason or reasons, I was voted down.  I wanted to speak at the 2010's convention, but I was not permitted to do so.  Why some people decide the fate of others who want to be a team player is beyond me.  Why would someone from Senator Snowe's office contact you about your meeting?  Why would you have to provide a list of all those who are attending?  I have stated in the past(not that anyone would value my opinion), that if you are offered a CWSM whereby one would have to pay for it, you should take the DoD's and or the Congress's offer on it.  Or perhaps you might be able to talk about a CWSM ribbon without the medal.  It would be a lot cheaper as we know and or we could still pay for the ribbon if the question of cost comes up.  Just my own thoughts.  I wish you all the best at the convention

Rob, Senator Snowe's office set up the meeting room for us. I think it is
a matter of heightened security.
We did bring the matter of paying for the medals ourselves during the
meeting with White House Staff. Anything that is passed must be funded,
we even brought up paying for part of the medal, that just got us a look
and "we can think about it"
