Look at this, they found a 4 acre site for Eisenhower. Amazing the things they can do when they want to.

Maybe they would be kind enough to set some square footage aside on this parcel for Cold War vets?

I think Eisenhower is deserving of a tribute. Four acres goes too far in a tribute to one man. While Supreme Allied Commander, his ability to manage and get multiple partners to work together is truly note worthy. His presidency was okay but surely not outstanding. After all, he did pick Nixon as his VP.

Lastly, based on the man's history and Washington's attitude toward the Cold War, I doubt there would be any prominence placed on that part of our or his history. We need a dedicated stand alone memorial to the Cold War heroes.

Now the price tag is bothersome to me. Unless it was all raised by the private sector, and I don't think so, then why now? We're broke and heading south. I'm sure the economy and the dire straits we're in will be used against our cause.
