S.402 is still sitting in the Committee on Armed Services, with the original 3 cosponsors.
Nothing in the House, and the House version of the NDAA did not have a provision.

We still can try to have an amendment made to the House, and keep pushing the Senate for cosponsors and to have it inculded
in their version of the NDAA.

We have to keep up the pressure, let them all know how important this is to all Cold War Veterans.
"And so the greatest of American triumphs... became a peculiarly joyless victory. We had won the Cold War, but there would be no parades."

If this is going to happen....2011 is the year it's going to and needs to happen.  I think we need major, directed and targeted push, writing, calling, e-mailng everybody from president to senators, congress, VSOs (all of them, i.e.Jewishb War veterans, Catholic War veterans, Reserve Officers Assoc. European Defense Assoc. Major VSOs and minor ones....remind Senator Snowe of her previous commitment; "You will have your medal"  We're told that for this to pass, the provision needs to have stand alone Senate bill (S.402 already in place...but need a lot more co-sponsors), a companion house bill, a provision in House 2012 NDAA (there has to be an amendment written in), and provision in Senate 2012 NDAA.  That is the minimum of what needs to be in place to get this passed.  Write Senator Webb and ask specifically if he will write a senate provision in 2012 NDAA.

Cold War veterans served their country at a time of possibly the greatest threat this country ever faced.  Cold war veterans earned this medal.  We don't need to ask for it.....it's already been paid for a million times over.

Again, my couple 'o cents.....and I for one am sure mssing USMC Kind o' Guy's inspired post here lately
