The conference report on finalizing the NDAA is scheduled for Tuesday. Congress wants to adjourn by Dec. 16,
Starting Monday the House will not adjourn until all legislative business is concluded for the 1st session.

Looks like another last minute deal on the NDAA. Hope to hear something late Monday or early Tuesday.

I cannot believe than in less that a few days the conference joint committee can work out all the differences between the Senate NDAA and House NDAA to produce a final 2012 NDAA.  (Of course this assumes that this committee is not working during the weekend).  If  we get a Final NDAA by Wed or even by Friday 12/16/2011 it appears that some decisions on the major differences have been made by now and issues are given up easily for the sake of expediency.  I just feel sorry of all the staffers that worked hard for the positions they supported in behalf of their Senator or Representative to see it not survive and even worst not throughly discussed or debated.

I just hope that the Cold War Medal provision in the Senate version was not offerred as a sacrifice for other agreements.   Someone made an earlier comment that it appears that House members make up the majority of the conference committee. If this is true, I am not sure if this hurts or helps our cause.  In previous years, when the House NDAA had a Cold War Medal provision and the Senate version did not,  having more House  conference members did not prevent any Cold War Medal from being dropped.

Again I have said it before,  it depends how hard Senator Webb, and the other Senate sponsors/co-sponsors fight for the Cold War Medal provision.

Conference action has been completed late Monday evening 12/12/2011 per the Military Times newspapers syndicate.  There have been some news on some provisions on the final bill.  How come we don't have any news on the Cold War Medal provision?.......don't we have connections to certain staff sections in Congress to get early news?  Or are we being set up again for the typical bad news like previous years?
