Anyone see the commercial Humana has been putting out? Check out this link, look this plan over real good and tell me what you think. It's a dental/vision package Humana is pushing exclusively for veterans. I have dental through my employment, but haven't really compared prices and services. The monthly payments look roughly the same give or take a few. This is exclusively for veterans. A package for husband and wife is 37 dollars per month to cover dental and vision. Look it over, do you think this is something you would do?http://www.humanaonedental.com/?vets=1?firstLevelMenu-1&vets=1

Before going any further, please check with yours and your spouses dentist to see if the accept Humana or that specific plan for Veterans. You'd be surprised at how fussy they are about insurance companies and their plans.
Vision is a non starter for most people and many companies throw it in their plan for almost nothing or a few dollars more. Usually a small amount is allowed to purchase glasses every other year and one eye exam per year and lets face it, most people don't think about their eyes until it's time to renew your drivers license.

Our particular dentist we were thinking of finding another dentist within our network, because, this dentist we just don't like. Not anyone in particular, the whole dam set up. First, you go in there and the ladies in the front are young punk smartasses, they never send out reminders, just like the first place we had. Setting up appointments, they make you wait forever unless you cry emergency. They seem to always be filled up. So I'm in the market to find another dentist organization to deal with. Once I had a temp cap put on until my other one would be made, and it broke down, had to go back in there, and they even charged me again. Very incompetent, don't like them.

My wife had like 20/20 vision when we had our eyes examed, but like 5 years later, she failed the drivers license exam, and had to get perscription glasses. I couldn't believe it. Here she had better vision than me, and I'm older by 5 years, suddenly, 5 years later, her vision had gone south. I have perscription, but never wear them. I seem to be doing fine without glasses. I will have a check up soon though, its about that time.
My estimate is that this Humana for veterans package offered is probably best for the unemployed or self employed veteran. I feel through my job, I can find a provider anywhere just about, and probably pay about the same. Plus its all taken out payroll deduct, alot more convenient. However, it is nice to know that there is a dental and vision package that is quite affordable. Less than 20 dollars per month for an individual and 37 for wife included with dental/vision. I still will have to do a comprehensive comparison just to make sure. I know I pay monthly via payroll deduct, but how much, I forgot. I know it isn't that much.

Here is a better link. I see the link I provided above is pretty corrupted. This one should put you in the right place to read upon the circumstances of the Humana for Veterans Package. I see the Vision part of it is not insurance but rather discounts, same with the hearing and perscription pills. Check it out and weigh in. I want to know if this is a good plan or is it just an insurance company trying to cash in on veterans.
