A fellow Cold War Veteran and friend Steve McCurdy (The Minuteman) and two associates,
Valentine Dagher (Crazy Horse) and Ramone Hulett (Cutter) are undertaking a tremendous and honorable
project. They plan to honor Cold War Veterans throughout America, as a way of saying Thank You for Your
Service to all those who served in the military between Sept. 1945 and Dec. 1991.
It is their goal to travel across the U.S. this summer, covering some 15,000 miles in a star-spangled SUV.
As they make this incredible journey they will present Cold War Medals to 100 veterans in 100 cities. They will also
make stops at several Cold War Missile Sites, Army, Navy and Air Force installations.
This journey will become a filmed documentary of their tour of America and the presentation of honors befitting
the sacrifices of Cold War Veterans: "Crazy Horse, Cutter, and the Minuteman A Cold War Salute."
Please visit the website http://coldwarsalute.com/ for more information and locations of planned stops.
Further information on the tour and how to donate to the cause to help travel costs and medals go to
http://www.indiegogo.com/ColdWarSalute
This worthy endeavor needs the support of all Americans, with your help recognition will finally be given to
those brave men and women. The Department of Defense has decided not to issue a medal to our nation's
Cold Warriors. Help us right this wrong and do what is correct and remember the long and often bitter
fight for peace and freedom.

In my opinion, and that is all it is, I think we have some bruised egos here. I don't believe this animosity is doing anything to further our cause, which I believe is to gain recognition of the contributions the Cold War veterans have made to this country. I said this previously, I believe these personal conflicts should be addressed somewhere other than on this Forum.

Here is what I know. Two years ago Mr. McCurdy approached the board
with and idea to present medals to Cold War Veterans. He also wanted
to share part of the proceeds from his book with ACWV. The board
agreed to his plan.
As things proceeded his original plan had to be scrapped as he was
unable to achieve the backing he needed.
Steve then started, on his own, the Give Them A Medal program. He traveled
to several locations and presented medals to several veterans. He wanted to
do more and it took some time to arrange things.
So now he and his two associates have this new plan and with the
proper guidance and support from the community they are now in a
position to go forward.
Steve contacted Scott and I about how we wanted to join forces with him.
The rest of the board was advised, and it was decided to see what he
had to offer.
We as an organization are acting as co-sponosrs or co-producers. We will
not be responsible for any losses or any action that might befall them
in their tour of of the country. Nor will we contribute monetarily.
There are still details to be worked out, but we will be receiving a portion
of the proceeds that are left following their travel expenses and costs of
medals, and possibly rental of the halls where the presentations will be
made.
The three gentlemen are ardent supporters of American Cold War Veterans, remembering the Cold War and the reasons behind it.
They will be visiting several Nike sites as well as some Navy and Army
bases. Places that were important to our nation during the Cold War,
and all our efforts as members of the military during that long struggle.
This was not done to keep things secret, but there was very little time to
react. It was jump in feet first or watch the opportunity pass us by.
Our name and logo will be displayed, so this will hopefully get our name
out in the public domain and garner more support and new members.
Plus it will help to remind everyone that yes there was a Cold War.
Despite the revisionists that attempt to ignore history as they rewrite
it.
On a little different note, I received a very nice email from a high school
social studies (I keep wanting to say History) teacher. She found our
website and used portions of it in her class. She also said that she and
her class appreciated all that we had done, the sacrifices we made; and
they understood the Cold War and its ramifications.

I agree Salrol. Well said. We have a week before May 1st no talk about
our agenda there. One thing is for sure I think one man making
uni-lateral decisions on who can speak and what they say in this forum
is a no go in my book. We have a lot to hash out and this is not the
place to do it. I will agree Ego's need checked and accountability
established we need a new expanded Board at least 7 preferably 9 members
who can actively work to advance this organization. Please I am urging
everybody to cease fire the b.s. and work towards our goals .
On the
Salute tour thing good luck but we do need to discuss ACWV's official
involvement. All for the idea but I think we need to sponsor not co
produce or incur any debt or liability from direct involvement. Send them a donation. We support the idea but we should make it clear
we are a separate entity . Just in case the proverbial bus crashes and
incurs debt . Lawsuits or being stuck with debts if production goes
bankrupt is not desired.
Plus it seems to me it is a brilliant way market a Movie and Book (with
us subsidizing it) what is the groups cut ? A contract would be in
order then for sure. There is much to discuss. The sooner the better.

I will stand down for now till the meeting, I wish to point out that We Still Do Not Have A Private Area to discuss issues Outside this forum, as for Scot's claim of slander most except for the current project questions were Facts both of those are not slander.
I have tried to work the issues out prior to this, the fact is Scot refused and as his E-mail pointedly showed he did not or will not accept me as a member since his having fired me, I am not a board member thus his actions of abusing the position as a board member stems from his ego, I have no power in ACWV so I cannot afford to have one , I've just been trying to do what was asked by Jerry & Frank, that is to update the membership certificate { as well the basic version } that is also used to thank supporters of ACWV, as for sticking up for 29palms the Fact is Frank nor Sean would have booted him and Scot only made that worse, a habit that he seems to relish that bodes well with his little Napoleon complex.
My Bad for pissing on Scot's parade ; {

I'm wondering if private messages here are in fact viewable to certain people here. We need some encryption equipment my way. Anyone got a KY-57?
