Title:Problem deleting subcategories

Hello,

I'm having a problem deleting a subcategory.  I get the "are you sure" pop-up and I click on "delete" not cancel and then nothing happens.  I've closed the browser and tried with a fresh window, but I have the same problem.

I'm the owner, so permissions shouldn't be a problem, right?

Thanks for any help I can get.  I apologize if I didn't put this in the right place.  I couldn't find a suitable existing thread to add to.

Lori

Oh, I deleted all the  posts out of the subcategory before I tried to delete the subcategory and it is empty.

It might be worth trying clearing your browsers cache, cookie and temp files, I thought you might be using ie 9 and was going to suggest trying compatibility view so try clearing it out and see if that helps.
Let up know either way and if no luck we can get admin to take a look.

Ok, I've cleared the browser cache, etc and that did not help.  I went to my laptop, which has IE9 loaded and made sure it was on compatibility view, tried it, cleared the cache and no luck.  The pop-up window just disappears after I confirm "delete."

I closed IE down and went into my group using Google Chrome and that same thing happened.  Each time I scrolled up and down the page to make sure I wasn't missing a window or something.

Someone emailed me that he or she is having the same problem.  Not sure why they didn't add to this topic, they seemed to think I had figured the problem out.  I only mention this because I might not be the only one having the problem.

Thanks again,

The problem is fixed.  I tested it after seeing that there had been some maintenance.  I've been able to clean up a couple of subcategories now.  Thanks so much!

Okkaaaayyyy - new, but related problem.  Now I can't delete Categories.  Subcategories are fine, but I can't delete the main ones and it is doing the same thing - it gives me the "are you sure message" (which you have to scroll to the top to find) and when I choose delete, nothing happens.  What the heck?  I'm trying to clean things up and consolidate topics in my group, so I would appreciate it if someone can look into this and get back to when it is fixed.

Thanks,
Lori

Hi Lori,

Until this is fixed, you could change the Permissions so that no one can see the Category and move it to the bottom out of your way.

This is still a problem for me. I've tried using different browsers, I've cleared my cookies, I've tried everything I can think of to make sure it isn't on my end. I was trying to consolidate and get rid of some unused categories. Right now, I have them so no one sees the, but I can see them on my page. It's been a month, can I get an update?
Thanks!
Lori
