Title:ChildPorn spam!

I'm having problems with spammers.
Blocking ip's has never worked and there is no option to block urls - only Forbidden Words but that's very limited.

Now I have a person who posted childporn pictures on my board!! I NEED to have ip ban fixed on all my boards to atleast make it too much trouble trying to spam again.

Thanks :)

Also, under preferences: "8. Post a new topic once every" I have added 120 sec (just tried with 1200sec) but that feature doesn't work either and members are still able to post dublicate posts within seconds.
I need this fixed too please.

Thanks again :)

The spammer you reported to Karrier was removed and I also came across two of his forums and Harry removed those too. Was he a member of your forum or do you permit non-members to post?

I will alert Harry to the other issue about posting in quick succession.

Thankyou for having him removed. I no longer permitt non-members to post when I discovered that ip ban doesn't work. And it appears that the e-mail ban doesn't work either.
I do have other spammers and I could really use the ip and e-mail ban, as well as the Post every X sec. option to work properly to help me manage.

Thank you

G'day Eskort ... just for clarification ... you mentioned that you do not allow non-members to post in your forum ... does the banning via Username work in your forum?

Yes, username ban works but it's so easy to re-signup for a new username that it doesn't help.

That's true although email addresses need to be verified now and they can't sign up with an email address they have used in Aimoo before. This may not stop them but it will certainly slow them down and hopefully they will get fed up of creating new email addresses and IDs.

The e-mail ban is limited too. I have a spammer who has his own domain and a catch-all e-mail account. It would be easy to just ban @hisdomain.com but the system gives an error: Please type a valid e-mail. So I have to ban each and every e-mail adress.
Can that be changed so I can add domains in e-mail ban?

Thanks

I really need ip ban feature fixed as I'm spending alot of time removing spammers who continue to create new e-mails and accounts.
I tried to set Approve members before joining, but that feature doesn't work either. I get the notice, but the new member is already able to post new messages even though I haven't approved them.

Thanks

have you set on the preferences page in the forum control panel near the bottom of the page so only members can post, I can't post a screen shot on my phone to show you, if this is the bit you changed to stop non members posting you also need to set the permissions for each category, you will find info on this in the tutorial section in this forum

as for the ip banning are you sure they are using the same ip each time or are they using proxy servers?
the ip banning is working here and on my test forums so mt sure why it doesn't work for you, are you banning just the ip or the whole range for that ip?

Yes, I know for a fact that the ip block doesn't work because I blocked the same ip over and over and they just kept on posting. That's when I removed the options for guests to post replies.
And now, even though I ban ip, e-mail, account, they are still able to re-signup with new e-mails for new account names.

Also, I really NEED domain block! You cannot use Forbidden words feature for this!
Why don't you have this feature already? There is no way to block links as they are created automatically and you can't even set them to open in a new window by default! Your boards are spam-heaven. Surely I'm not the only one with this problem?

Thanks

I've made you a super-admin.

The ip block doesn't work.
8. Post a new topic once every.. doesn't work.
3. New members joining option .. doesn't work (I get a notice of new member but they can still post before I approved/declined)

Today I noticed that several spammers (or the same one) removed the e-mail from the account so I cannot block it, only the ip and accountname. That will save them time when re-joining...

Thanks

hi
I will be on my laptop in a few hours and will take a look, I will also use a test id to join with to test permissions, joining etc
I will let you know what I find out and if appropriate I will post what I find here to as it might help others
I will test the ip banning too.

as for the removal of email addresses I thought you had to add a new one when removing the old one and that you couldn't remove the email and leave it blank, that is something that shouldn't be possible.
I will test that too.

Yes, I too thought that you can't leave the e-mail field empty. However, if I try to ban member: http://profile.aimoo.com/christine_sth by e-mail then that field is empty. I went into my controlpanel membersarea and noticed that the e-mail is incomplete: placintacristina756@ya - I don't know if it's becuase there are not enough characters showing, or that they remove part of their e-mail on purpose.

Can this be fixed too?
Thanks

Those forums are being taken care off Michi. The creation of new forums is currently disabled until they are all cleared completely.

Please do not post links here. You can send a PM addressed to administrator if you don't want to open to open them to click on the Report Icon, but those in your link have already been reported and will eventually drop off the list.

Thanks.

Since this thread was bumped I can confirm that the ip ban seems to work - finally!
A member wasn't able to access the board due to being banned and said that he hasn't posted since he was a guest. And I removed that feature like a year ago due to spam and rude comments.

However the setting in Preferences 8. Post a new topic once every xx sec doesn't work.
My main board eskort.aimoo.com gets multiple/dublicate posts when it shouldn't be possible

Thanks again :)

The friend of the user Pinof just joined my board. When checking out Pinof profile it was a male, with a suggestive picture of a young female. Hard to tell her age, but figured she's 18+.
But then I saw that this person has a forum called Nady and it's in Kids and Teens category... Due to the server issue I cannot view the board but maybe someone else can have a look into this?

Thanks

Thank you for your fast respons.
I replied to your pm with the info, but when sending it the server stopped working so I'm not sure if you got it. But the name of the profile is: Pinof - and one of his visitors have the cp-name: Littlelol and I found this profile a few minutes ago when going through my new memberslist and he was the friend of sexy_olga and that's his only friend wich I found... odd.
I banned sexy_olga, but I haven't been able to view her post on my board - I just hope it's nothing illegal :( If you can look at her post and see if it's kosher I would appreciate it. If it's not then can you or an admin remove it please?

Thanks :)
