how can a busy Diamond forum suddenly just vanish overnight
I believe the forum to be on Server 1 it has been here since the early days with Aimoo and has in that time only ever been under 1 of 2 owners either myself Alanxxx or Winexxx

I do not know how much diamond we have left but we have been diamond members for over 3 years

I also notice that my posting history in here is inclomplete as I have posted more than 5 times into the help forums so Aimoo is losing recortds somewhere.

A question for the administration it there are any changes made to the database content are there not records kept to show what actions have been carried out.
somebody had deleted the records for cuddling or moved them or hidden them somebody must know what changes have been made to the data over night the 5years plus records or a group do not vanish by themselves especially as you have confirmed that you can see our diamond membership records

Hi Wine,I feel very sorry about your lost forum.Now I have asked our tech checking our backup,he said he can have a try but he can't promise he can retrieve it.I hope your can provide more information for him to check it,such as categories and post titles... everything you can remembered just post it here.I will ask our tech to fix our backup and make it work better from now on.Sorry again.

Wine you do not sound at all pathetic you sound sincere and dedicated which I know that you are I still do not understand how this can happen how 5 years of data is lost how a critical keyfield is deleted by somebody on the database management team and suddenly a group no longer exists. I am total dumbfounded that this is possible and that it is not recoverable which seems to be what I am currently being told.

Has Aimoo established yet who was manipulating the database data during the 12 hour period when our group went missing and what that person or persons were actually doing data does not just vanish it has to have been deleted by somebody. and there should be a record of the process in the database log.

I can confirm that the group was available for posting at 20:30 pm UK time on 8/8/2012 and was not available @ 05:00 on 9/8/2012 UK time so it was removed within that 9 hour window

I'm an asst.manager in Cuddlers and from what I've read from top to bottom you're telling us the best you can do is constantly apologize?! It's beyond how the group was there in mid afternoon and by early evening it was gone! Sorry I sense 'someone?!' is not taking reponsibility for this, as group doesn't just disappear? 1 further question all of this dialogue is being carried out under the normal support forumI have noticed that I no longer have any access to the diamond support forum because I assume My Diamond forum is Missing I do hope no inist that this matter is being dealt with under Diamond support priorities.

Alan, if you were a member of Diamond Support before, you should still be a member. However, I cannot see you on the Members List. Did you actually join? I can see Wine on the Members List.
The Techs are giving this their top prority. Alice is as mystified as you as to why the forum disappeared.

as to the forum disappearing somebody has had to have deleted a keyfield that linked to the group somewhere, I am afraid that I do not believe in software gremlins only in either programming errors or operator errors I work in the communication industry in the design and supply of satellites and I know the importance of having proper back up and recovery processes and procedures you cannot send a support engineer into orbit easily to fix your satellite it has to be all done from the ground.

That is one of the problems all of you volunteer's to a great job but you seem to have been placed in the front line while the real aimoo technical people are hiding in the background and its a shame but it is the volunteer staff that take to brunt of the disgruntlement of the members and not the people that are responsible for the problems

can I ask that as we are improving Aimoo for the benefit of all that start to adopt world class business practices. firstly when there is a problem provide a daily status report what has been tried during the past 24 hours what has been achieved what will be tried in the next 24 hours. this is not day three and we have had no progress report on aimoos investigation of the problem2 when ever there is planned work on any of the servers ensure at all users are informed in advance and given an estimate of the duration of the work so that all can know when there forum is not available.
three keep an accurate log of all work carried out on the database no matter hoe trivial it may seem and sometimes the consequences are more than was expected but if you know what was done to cause and outcome you have a much better change of reversing the situation.
