Setting up Diamond Donations


This message is for Forum Owners and Super-Administrators.

Aimoo provides free Forums but you may want to consider upgrading to a Diamond Forum which includes the following additional advantages:

1) No advertisements
2) Photograph albums
3) Unlimited storage space
4) Upload images from your computer into a message
5) Group emails
6) Change the domain name of your Forum
7) Search Option (Display or Hide your Forum from Search Engines such as Aimoo, Google, Yahoo and MSN)
8) Showcase Priority
9) Faster Support Service (Diamond Help Forum or Email support-ticket@aimoo.com)

To set up your Donation system, look in the Side bar for the "Make a Donation" widget and click on [Edit].

The following page will appear. If you are already on the Sidebar Widgets page after doing something else, click on "Make a donation" in the list of Widgets.

You have a choice of two Donation icons, or you can click on Upload and use your own.
You can change the Title which appears next to the Donation icon if you wish.


You can change the wording for the Donation Description and you can set the minimum amount for donations.  Aimoo's minimum is $3 but you may change it to a higher amount if you wish.  However, if you make it too high, you are less likely to encourage members make a donation.

Check the box if you want donors to have a Sponsor's icon in their Personal Info area, where their Avatar is. I think members who donate would like this as it gives them some sort of recognition. Again you can click on Upload and use your own icon.

When you have finished, click on Submit.

You can of course make a donation yourself. See the separate message on making donations.

Your donations and those of members will appear in the Forum's Diamond Accounting Log, which is not visible to members. Owners and Admins only have access to the Accounting Log.

In one of my Forums, I donated the whole amount, then upgraded to Diamond. I could have upgraded to Diamond using my credit card or PayPal, but by donating the amount first gave me the Sponsor's Icon next to my Avatar.

Renewing or Upgrading to Diamond 

Some Owners and Super Administrators are under the impression that once they have made a donation, their Forum will automatically be upgraded to Diamond, but they need to do one more step to become a Diamond Forum.

When there are enough funds, the Owner or Super-Administrator should go into "Accounting".

                


Click on "Start your Diamond Program".

OR

Click the Renew/Upgrade button/bar as shown below.




 
Click the appropriate buttons to choose the period required and method of payment.  If you wish to pay using the donations, click on "Pay by Donation".

Then click the button "Click to Pay".

Aimoo then takes the appropriate amount from the Donation Chest to pay for the Diamond Membership.

If you don't want to pay by donation and you don't want the Donor Icon next your Avatar, you can pay by one of the other methods.

If you do not wish to accept Donations from your Members, you may remove the Widget from the Side Bar.

You can now pay for Diamond Membership and Donations through PayPal by following these steps.

1)  Send a PM addressed to administrator and state the following details:


     a)  Forum link/URL.


     b)  The amount you wish to pay.


     c)  Whether your payment is to pay for Diamond Membership or for a Donation.


     d)  The email address you use with PayPal.


2)  Aimoo will then send an invoice to the email address provided, which will include
     all the necessary details.


3)  You need to click on the PAY NOW button towards the top right of the invoice
     and process your payment.


4)  When PayPal transfers your payment to Aimoo, your Donation or Diamond
     Membership will be applied to the forum stated in your PM.

5)  You will receive a PM confirming the update.
